 Hey Folks,

After waiting with baited breath for some time I am finally able to announce the next ME2 PS3 patch. It should be in your hands in the next few days as Sony has just recently finished approving it.  We are now waiting for them to propagate it to the PSN.

A rough list of the fixes is as follows:
- Players who start a new 'New Game Plus' game will be correctly awarded for their past accomplishments.  We could not retroactively fix this for your saves unfortunately.

- The game should no longer have corrupted textures appearing on screen at odd times (this unfortunately doesn't fix the Hammerhead Ground textures)

- The Insanity difficulty will now award players who start new games with the Trophy every time.  We could not guarantee this to retroactively fix this for your saves unfortunately.

- Also resolved a few rare crashes related to DLC and the armor locker

- Fixed some age verification issues related to DLC and the Sony PSN Store.

Thanks folks for all the feedback!

-Jess

First of all it is a good thing that Bioware still supports the game. The truth though is that I am dissapointed. There are some really annoying bugs in this game that are left intact. First of all it is certain now that the overlord horrible pixels will stay. Also nothing is being said about the overlord collision detection of the hammerhead with the ground. Another important bug that won't be dealt from Bioware is the "flying Shepard", which is very common especially if you use the vanguard class. Also nothing is being said about either the audio problems (which completely ruin the experience) or the bad framerate of the 1,01 version. What about the loading times? Are there any INGAME glitches that are actually fixed or not? It seems that little care (and time) has been given for the second patch, as the fixes are neither difficult nor time consuming. I believe that these fixes were made after the Arrival DLC, as two months is an extremely long period for a patch like that! The "start new game" glitch has been fixed which is a good thing certainly, but the patch as a whole wasn't what I've been expecting at all. That's a real shame.

I must know if this will be the last available patch for the game. I waited a really long time hoping for a proper patch and now I want to know if there is any reason to wait longer or just play what I have! No more lies Bioware. I could have played the optimum version (pc version of course) but I believed in your lies about the supposingly best version and bought it. Should I wait longer or not?

NG+ is finally fixed huh? one of the two major bugs are fixed, took long enough huh, out of sync audio better be next if any, gotta admit i doubt anything else is comming.

Bioware certainly need to be way more vocal about support, hell look at pretty much any customer service, communication is the first rule.

You could have added something like "audio issues are known to us and we are still working on them" or say that you couldnt fix them and plain apologize, honesty goes a LONG way.

Damn! I gotta say, I didn't see this coming. It's a shame about the Overlord textures and audio desync, but it's still great news. Thank you so much Bioware! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Why do you thank Bioware for, really? These fixes don't need more than a week to be implemented. Bioware is obvious that has been ignoring as for all of this time and cared only for the damn DLC Arrival. When the DLC was finished, they initially fixed some bugs for this DLC and afterwards they made some quick improvements over the ps3 mass effect 2, so we shut up. No mass effect 3 for me. It seems that I'll see it on you tube. I don't want to be befooled again. Mass effect 3 probably will be the same mess on ps3 unfortunately. :crying:

I believe that it is more than clear from Jesse’s words what’s fixed and what’s not. The real question from now on is …. “are they still working on fixing bugs”?

The two biggest complaints since day 1 has been:

1. Garbage Loading
2. Garbage Sound Synch

Amazed to see in 2011 these cannot be seemingly overcome.

Also why do ppl complain about the NG+? Staring a new char on insane makes all enemies lvl 1. That combined with the Matock = cake walk. All in all, not a more worthy fix then a quarter of all dialogue being lost.

Please stop, you already said you are not satisfied. It is stuff like this that makes the devs not want to talk to us. I'm sure if they could have fixed it they would have. I've been playing the ps3 version of the game and it plays fine for me. The graphics are nicer than the xbox 360's and i get to have a quick comic to help me make different story lines in my universe that i'm too lazy to do on the xbox.

I am sure you really want to play ME2, so just go play it. It really is a great game and bugs happen in all games. ME1 was glitchy as all heck and yet i still loved it. Yes it sucks that there will be bugs but there is no reason to tell people not to thank bioware for making us a great game. This is the bioware's job and i'm pretty sure they are doing the best they can.

*white knight out*

Edit: And thank you bioware

First of all Bioware thanks for the patch.
If the texture glitch cannot be fixed at leats the collision glitch must be.
And Bioware can you explain the causes of the sound desync?, I am curious.

First of all I am sorry if I offended anybody. I was overly offensive before and I shouldn't. This is due to the fact that I am very dissapointed with the current situation as I am a big fan of the mass effect universe, so I believe that I am at least justifiable. I consider Bioware as a truly competent  and important game developer. The mass effect world is something unique, believable, shockingly realistic. Now let's get to the point.......

Every company has the right to support its product or not. Nobody can force Bioware or any Bioware to support it more. The company will decide how much care will provide by estimating both the number of their funs and the success of their product on the specific platform (ps3 in our example). Also due to the fact that ps3 wasn’t the leading platform of a game that runs on a ps3 unfriendly engine (unreal 3), the ps3 version needed extra care to become a decent port. I understand that Bioware’s publisher doesn’t want the developers spending their time on a platform that didn’t give them satisfying sales. I also understand that Bioware’s publisher wants Mass Effect 3 to be ready till December for a simultaneous release (which is really tough for the devs). With all these in mind, I only ask Bioware to tell us if the 1,02 version will be the last one available. I am a big mass effect fan (played and enjoyed the first one on my pc) and I want to finish the game on its final version (for the best experience). I don’t care why they won’t support it anymore and I won’t say anything if this is the case. But as a mass effect fan who purchased the game on its full prize, I believe I deserve to know if this is indeed the final version. Please Bioware confirm it or not and I won’t bother you any more.

As I read through this I am happy. Not so much happy for the patch (Shouldn't this stuff have been resolved long before release. For instance, the NG+?) , but I'm happy there are others with the Audio desync and it's a known problem among fans. I haven't gotten on the forms much for ME2, as I just recently got it because I <3 PS3. But, it does irritate the crap out of me. *Samara uses her levitate and comes to the ground* *3 seconds later* *you hear the sound of the levitation* WTF!?

So... the audio/dialogue cut outs are fixed? Does anyone who downloaded the patch know if it has or not?

The patch isn't ready for downloading yet (it will probably be in about a week or even later depending on PSN services), but there aren't any clues or references from Jesse's words that audio issues are fixed or even lessened. Lets hope Jesse just ....... forgot  to mention audio fixes but I doubt it, as this issue is too important to forget. :?

If you're refering to the patch released yesterday, it's already available. The audio issues are still present.

OK looks like I am now waiting for 1.03 patch. Glad I have DA2 to keep me busy for at least a little while longer. The main reason I started buying these Bioware games is for the story dialog , as it is as close to being part of a movie as possible (interactive movie) So if the audio glitches cuts out then I may as well stick to Hollywood movies instead of Bioware games.
