And you're referring to the Stone Prisoner and Warden's Keep? Haven't played SP yet, but I think WK was just fine for $7. I'd probably buy more of those if Bioware releases more in that category. Seven dollars is no big deal.

Stone Prisoner is exceptionally big DLC... it's definitely high quality.

Warden's Keep is high quality too - albeit a bit short

Considering that the DLC is likely to break your game ( just take a peek in the technical support forum) I say it's pretty damn expensive.

I bought the digital deluxe edition and it has given me nothing but grief. (Wardens keep and all my gear suddenly dissapearing, Shale braking the game when you try to speak to him and so on...)

hmm, to me it is the other way around.

i found the stone prisoner quest very short, and warden's keep pretty long.

I've onyl played the golem and it's way too short sorry. Quality is there, but i clocked it in an hour. Luckily I didn't "pay" it, but I would have been in rage if I payed 14€ for that.

No way i'm paying warden's keep.

But with Shale you not only get the quest to find him but also him as a companion which I did enjoy a lot (not because of his abilities more because of the talking stuff).

Of course I wouldn't mind longer DLC IF the quality is still high.

Warden's Keep was WAY too short for $7. For $7 I'd expect something at least as long as the Bercilian Forest quest.

That's why I disabled all DLCs on my second run, and I wont activate them unless I really get an itch to explore all of Shale's interactions. Savegame based DRM, what were they thinking? And not even a mention of patching this yet.

As for the quality of the DLCs, both are decent I guess. Stone prisoner was a bit too short (under an hour, same here), and I did not like how items and the chest were a big part of the deal.

For me DLCs should be like with Fallout 3, focused on adventuring, new areas, new enemies, and new stories if possible.

Items are kind of hard to do "right", as they either feel too weak or too powerful and thus game-experience breaking. (As an example I got StarFeng very early and it lasted me the whole game, which does not feel right somehow.)

I think the DLC quality was pretty good. The SP came with my game, of course, not sure if I would have wanted to pay 15€ for that one, but you can certainly call it high quality. Warden's Keep was good, I thought, not that huge, but then again, not that expensive. I've got nothing to complain about quality wise.

People seem to forget that Shale is not simply one quest. She has her own companion quest, and the fact that she is integrated into about every conversation makes it that much bigger. Warden's Keep was decent, way too short. Went through that in about 20 minutes... if not less.

I'm pretty much at the end of the game (I think) but decided to download these both as I want to complete everything there is. Hopefully I can still do these 2 things.

Well, the only problem I have is the new abilities that came with Warden's Keep, the two you get depending on which class you are for drinking that vial, aren't very useful. As a warrior, the skills just take away too much of your health to justify using. Perhaps the mage and rogue skills are more useful?

Yeah I think it' silly to look at the Stone Prisoner as just the quest to get Shale, you're getting a fully fleshed out party member in the bundle who is really, really, well worked into the story. I can't point out *just* how well without spoilers but I'm pretty sure I saw everything Shale has to offer story/quest wise and if that indicates the quality of future DLC, I will *definitely* be buying

While the quality of Wardens Keep was good, the length was to short to justify the price tag. I spend about an hour on it (give or take).

If I were to pay 4.7 euro (7 dollars) for every hour played in the overall game, I'd be down 300+ euro's. I did that calculation on the top of my head with a lot of assumptions on hours played, but you get the gist of it.

when i played through wardens keep it felt like about an hour to me aswell, but then a turnaround and quick look at the clock revealed it had actually been three.

I think the warden DLC was too short and therefore overpriced. I wouldn't mind paying 3-4 bucks for it but 7$ is a bit too much. Shale in the other hand was very well done and since it is included with the game I have no complains about it.

**SPOILER**

It's not just the town you save him, but also the companion quest for Shale is rather decent as well.

You could be quite right, time is funny that way.

You must remember that there is the quest to find Shale - then there's his party interactions, dialogue.. PLUS his own quest to reclaim his(cough) identity.. his own quest is about as long as Warden's Keep...

The DLC was fantastic, because the items in the game are so astonishingly badly itemised that being able to go into WK and scoop up an insane 2-hander, grab blood dragon plate + honnleath helm and wc boots, then go to shale and grab harvest moon ring and helm of honnleath is actually nearly an end-game loadout :x

Indeed - I have been pleasantly surprised with just how much constant interaction there is with Shale - not just the conversation topics initiated by the PC, but also the number of "random" companion <-> companion lines that Shale has. It's definitely a quality piece of work.

I was also happy with Warden's Keep. It took a few hours to go through, and was an interesting story. If we're looking at it cynically, I don't doubt that I got my money's worth - though to be honest, I bought it, installed it and just got on with enjoying it rather than trying to assess its value-for-money.

The thing about Stone Prisoner being so integrated is that it originally was supposed to be part of the normal game, and not a DLC. But something happened and it didn't make the final cut. As it stands, I'm happy that it is included now (for free in the CE I bought), in it's finished state. It's quite good piece of work, actually and I rather liked Shale... But not pidgeons :D :D
