And you're referring to the Stone Prisoner and Warden's Keep? Haven't played SP yet, but I think WK was just fine for $7. I'd probably buy more of those if Bioware releases more in that category. Seven dollars is no big deal.

Agreed, $7 won't even buy you a good pizza here. And that lasts for about 10mins, so really. Not a price to be complaining about.

So if a $10 pizza lasts you 10 minutes - you'd pay $4800 for an 80 hour game like Dragon Age? Haha ok.

I would say in general, Stone Prisoner is worth it (I bought CE, so it really didn't cost me anything, and was designed to be in the release anyhow, so that's why it's so polished), and Warden's Keep is far from worth it.

WK - I was under the impression you got a new base to call home. But when you're done it's not even close to that. You can't re-enter the keep, your "camp" doesn't reset to the WK area, either. It's just a couple of outside vendors.

If items is what you're after, you can make decent (or incredibly overpowered) ones in the toolset and save a few bucks rather than buy WK.

Wtf? That makes no sense. All he's saying is that it's obvious BioWare is giving you your money's value and more...

I came away thinking that Shale was a pretty complicated piece of DLC. I mean, he is incorporated into the whole main story with the story NPCs.

I can't imagine any new DLC having that same kind of investment in terms of dialogue.

DLC: Decent

DRM of DLC: Total nightmare (items missing from saves when the DRM once again thinks it is not authorized, etc.)

Ergo: I won't buy any further DLC until they change the DRM scheme.

You're right it doesn't make sense - you can't compare cost/benefit of a pizza to a game.

thats a bit too generalized. there is a difference in spending 10$ on 10 minute lasting food and spending 10$ on 10 minute lasting multimedia-experience. Meaning, only because 10 minute of pizza-eating costs your 10$, that doesnt mean that any 10 minute long activity giving to you is worth 10$.

Well, you *can* make that comparison but apparently what you *can't* do is make it without some jackass blowing it up out of proportion and mocking you.

I've onyl played the golem and it's way too short sorry. Quality is there, but i clocked it in an hour. Luckily I didn't "pay" it, but I would have been in rage if I payed 14€ for that.

No way i'm paying warden's keep.

This.

I got the stone prisoner for free. After playing it I find it very expensive at the current selling price, even counting Shale interaction and sidequest

I didn't purchase Warden's Keep, and I will not purchase any DLC with a price per content higher than the "traditional" expansions.

if you want to use comparisons.

then you should compare it to the cost of the actual game.

let's say you bought DAO for $50 and just the first run-through took you 50hrs.

then shouldn't a DLC that lasts less then an hour cost less than $1?

so paying $7 is definitely not worth it

I think most people agree on the high quality of the DLC (both, Wardens Keep and Stone Prisoner). The opinions differ about whether or not the price is appropriate. Qualitywise I clearly prefer Stone Prisoner.

There are two ways of adding new content to the game. The wrong way first: You get some zones and some gear and that's it, there is no impact on the further game. Warden's Keep is designed this way. However the key to better DLC is its interweaving into existing content. The Stone Prisoner did it all right:

- new areas (of course)
- Shale's story evolving with the progress of the game and the main story
- party members reacting to him
- Shale has unique responses to situations throughout the main story
- NPC recognize Shale in certain Situations

Personally, I'd weigh the importance of these points roughly this way: new areas 50% or less, interweaving 50% or more. According to this formula, Warden's Keep was okay for me, but Stone Prisoner great! DLC done this way feels really connected to and part of the Dragon Age's world. So my plea to Bioware would be: Tie upcoming DLC into existing content, throughout the whole game.

A few suggestions:
- use known characters for new adventures too (adds more depth and connects emotionally to them)
- let the party react to new adventures (even if that means hiring the same voice actors)
- let new characters react to events of the main game (as Shale does)
- let characters of the main game react to the new stuff (again, re-hiring voice actors necessary)
- expand existing places (i.e. Denerim, B. Forest etc.)

P.S.
I copied most of this from another post I made.

I just hope there will be bundle packs regarding DLC in retail and online stores in awhile. Cause buying DLC with bioware points, its the only way for getting the Wardens Keep. Why couldnt there be retail packages of goodies as I said? I have had bad experience with buysing stuff online with credit card. I prefer retail anyday!

The DLC is overpriced.

Warden's Keep is good, but at 7$ it should have been much longer and have more content. Don't get me wrong, the quality isn't an issue here. The plot was good and it gave some extra background info about the Gray Wardens and their darker side. But it just isn't worth 7$ if the game itself costs 50-60$.

For that price you'd expect 5-6 hours of good-quality content and things like new specializations, a new companion, etc. Stone Prisoner and Warden's Keep TOGETHER might be worth 7$.

The Stone Prisoner is more than just a quest. You get a fully developed party member with voiced-over banter, comments and a quest. So I'd say, this is very high quality. Shale's comments made me laugh a couple of times.

Warden's Keep: Very well done, a bit short and a big disappointment that you cannot reenter the keep, but still, very well done ... good quality.

Epic fail

So, you guys are happy to pay 7$ for 1hour of content, and since you are putting your money where you mouth is, what EA understands is that you WOULD BE HAPPY to pay $210 for a 30hour pack (like a traditional expansion), if only they release a little bit at a time.

I hope there are not many like you, because, If the current DLCs sell well, we can forget about ever having a "traditional" expansion "traditionally" priced.

It's just business.

Wardens Keep and Stone Prisoner in my opinion were really good. Both were quite good. I even believe I detected a slight improvement with in textures, at least for the 360, in wardens keep..which doesn't make sense, but then again the environs were smaller for WK so maybe they were able to enhance textures a bit, anyways it just looked a tad better graphically. Plus I aquired new talents as a mage which was nice. I liked it a lot.
