Randal watches a ME3 romance cutscene.

...long cutscene.

Yeah that's totally what we want for ME3.

Considering videos games are viewed as kids stuff lame romances come with the territory by default.

Don't expect things to change.

... Do you see the rating on this game? Mature. That means mature content.

That means it was meant for 18+.

at the age of 18, someone can buy a mountain of porn (or get it for free online) for 50 bucks. This porn may (or may not) involve the following: Men, Women, Men/Women, She-Men, Transvestites, transsexuals, vegans, animals, tentacles, aliens, supreme court justices, and a green crayon.

There is NOTHING in Mass Effect that can top the stuff you can find with a few clicks and a little curiosity.

This is NOT Disney Effect... This game is about adults (at least in their mid-thirties for man-shep, probably late 20's, early 30's for femshep) who do adult things... this includes sex. If that happens to be with a turian renegade or the blue skinned 108 year old asari.... so be it.

If Faux News reports on it.... it will give the game a lovely publicity boost and more people will buy the game...

^ People who don't play video games don't see it that way.(imo)

Adult gamers are outnumbered by kids hence lame romances.(imo)

In ME2 the only half nude thing we saw was jacob. Not on a scandal level or splicit penetration(dont worry about fox, they will scandal with anything lame) but something more spicy than ME2 would be better. The example of the witcher was great, but without the collectible cards after getting laid lol.

Funny, people who don't play video games also don't buy them.

Enter parents, busy-bodies and buisness suits.

You can try and fight it all you want, it's a fruitless search.(imo)

parents should not be buying these games for their kids if they don't like it.

the other two appear to me rather broad statements, and rather unfair ones at that.

Some more dialogue options during the sex scenes would be good. You could be a paragon sweet lover or the rough renegade

Maybe instead of being at the end of the game this time it could be more towards the beginning, just before the proverbial crap hits the fan. It would give Shepard and her/his LI something to fight for, other than their survival of course (knowing you can continue your relationship when all is said and done is a good motivator).

I'm not really picky about the specifics, so long as there is a shirtless Garrus some where I'll be happy.

Meh. It's the dialogue that does it for me. Don't mind nudie-free so long as it's cute/romantic.

Besides, I'm still not entirely sure if I really want to see what human on turian looks like...

Yeah, it doesn't need to be anything ove the top or explicit. ME1 did a good job of showing the act without showing too much, maybe something similar can be followed up on in ME3. A few well-placed moments of fading to black and the right lighting can do a lot.

The emphasis should of course be on dialogue, whether before the sex or after (preferably both) but a few little hints and teases and the allusion of more can help set the mood as well (and helps keep things tame for those who don't want to see more).

I want them to be romantic. They called Romances, not hookups

Needs more Mangay,IMO. Though,I'd be happy with a same-sex"best friends" type thing that you could do along with your Romantic Interest. one of the girl harvest moon games actually did something similar to that, which I thought was kind of cool and needs to be implemented in more games.
Come on, ManShep and Garrus are at /least/ bros for life. Having something were they hang out or something would be awesome.

Bioware earned my respect with the daring but tastefully done love scene in ME1, but since then the romance scene trend with their game titles has gotten ridiculously Victorian. Mass Effect is an appropriately rated "M" for Mature game. What was done in ME1 was completely tasteful and appropriate for the game - it wasn't even in the same galaxy as pornography (or hentai, if you want to be technical) - trying to label it as such is not only ignorant, but also insulting to anyone with a modicum of intelligence. If I'm going to purchase a Mature rated game, it's with the expectation that it contains MATURE content. So STOP pandering to people who can't take responsibility for themselves or their own children. As a parent, I don't believe I have the right to buy my kid an "M" rated game and then complain about what's in it. It's as nonsensical as taking your kids to an "R" rated movie and then claiming that the movie was inappropriate for them.

Please don't cheese the romance scenes in ME3 like you guys did in DA2. Whether you go back to what you so tastefully did in ME1, or some compromise between that and ME2, you'll have my full support.

Well, all I can say is that I liked the Thane kiss ME2, and I'll have to see what they do in ME3. I think it was handled maturely in ME1, and my preference is for something similarly tasteful and intimate. Eh, it's not the biggest priority in my life, so I'll probably be okay with whatever they do.

I've enjoyed how Liara has been handled in both romance scenes from ME1 and LOTSB.

DA2's scenes were abhorrent. No emotional attachment to it at ALL.

Imho ME1's were perfect. ME2's felt a bit awkward with the whole "Doofus has sex with his socks on approach", but most of 'em (Jack's and LotSB's especially) were oozing emotion and involvement, which is what those scenes should be all about. Much more important than doing deed, so to speak.

Even though the fate of most sentient species in known space is counting on Shep your squad mates and especially the LI's are the ones that make it worth fighting for.

It sucked to have to blow up 300k anonymous Batarians, but it was nothing compared to loosing a single squad mate in other portions of the game.

I don't get people like Fox News. Just a few seconds of "sex" and nothing intimate even happens and everyone goes berserk and starts calling Xbox for Sexbox

... I had managed to go my entire adult life without imagining what that particular coupling might look like.

I can no longer make that statement.

...

Thanks a pantload.
