Anyone know why the Arishok has such elaborate horns?

I think you might identify him as "the wiedler of Asala"
You could try, but Asala means "soul" so they'd probably think you were nuts. Knowing what nickname another Qunari gives his weapon is probably like knowing what a buddy decided to nickname his genetalia. You'd only find out by accident, and YOU PROBABLY DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW.
I am not sure Sten would appreciate you comparing his sword to a penis, as flaterring as that may be
I can't help but feel there's a joke here about that rainbow butterfly sword you can give him...

I wonder if they have cool badass company names. Like "basbane". Or "Qunwrath".
Of couse in their own language.
Beresaad, Fourth Division, Eighth Unit, "The Cookie Eaters"
"WTF kind of unit name is this?"
"Well I like it."
"You're insane. Those humans drove you insane. You even talk to that dog."
"The dog understands me perfectly."
"I can't believe the Arishok made you a general."
I agree with the first guy, they should clearly be the cookie crunchers, or possibly cookie crumblers.
I vote for "Fat Kid's Bane" as Stens Unitname and the battle cry shall be: "Surrender your confections! You don't need more!"
What about "naysayers".
Warcry: "No.", which they shout after enemy war speeches.
Like
Theoden: "DEATH!"
Qunari: "No."
Seriously demoralizing.

They don't scream no, all of them say it in a deadpan manner at once. Making it just loud enough to hear.

I thought his eyes were purple? I didn't spend a lot of time looking at them or anything!
They were blue on the inner portion of the iris and red on the rim, so if you get right up in his face, they look blue, if you back up a step, they look purple, and if you back up a few more steps, they look red. It was a really interesting effect and nicely paralleled how he seemed the most ferocious at a distance, but the better you got to know him the nicer he seemed. I wish they'd kept that sort of thing for the other Qunari.

Ah true. It would be more demoralizing this way. The sheer indifference and negation of everything the enemy said.

Or they could use a banner with a painting of Sten saying "No."
I'm pretty sure Sten would approve a painting.

I should take a look next time, mind you my Sten's modded to hell and back.

Something like this, except with Sten on it.

And with the "no".
BTW, am I the only one who thinks the Arishok's "no" is at least as good as Sten's?

Knight, where's the painting from?
I google imaged it. It was in the DA wiki. Possibly an official concept art?
@ Herr
Interesting theory. Very possible.
Those sarcastic Qunari under Sten don't stand a chance at becoming Arishok then.

The Arishok is a better scowler than Sten, leading me to believe that they administer rank by scowl.
An important consideration when you are going to be saying no allot

But I think i spoiled myself with all that mods. I won't recognize him when I meet him in DA3 as Arishok. I will just know its him because of the cookie crumbs on his armor.

I still prefer Sten's "No." maybe because the first time I talked to him I didn't expect that bluntness, with the Arishok you are expecting it.
Sten also has a good sense of humor with it.
Alistair: Were you really in that cage for twenty days?
Sten: It might have been closer to thirty. I stopped counting after a while.
Alistair: What did you do? I mean... twenty days is a long time to sit in one place and do nothing.
Sten: On good days, I posed riddles to the passersby, offering them treasures in exchange for correct answers.
Alistair: Really?
Sten: No.
Alistair: Awww. Too bad. That's got serious potential.

Huh, I wonder if Thedas or Qunari have legends on sphinxes. Or actual real sphinxes
Give it time. The longer a game goes on, the more ridiculous their ideas for monsters. Everyone remember Everquest? They're still making expansions. One of the big bad raid bosses, that you fight 54-on-1, is a massive (like dragon size) zombie rabbit. I wish I was kidding.

I almost choked on the butterfinger i was eating.
jackass. :-p
also, if you have morrigan and sten as party members, there is one exchange where sten gets back at morrigan for her incessantly trying to tempt him to sleep with her that is hilarious. he should have been made king of thedas for that little counter-jibe.

This conversation is the best argument I've ever seen for sparing Sten.
