While I'd like the silent protagonist back, I am pretty sure that's not going to happen.
Continue to allow me to play a female character.
MORE conversation with the companions. Somewhere in between Origins and DA2 if more than Origins isn't possible.
The ability to kiss your love interest if they're in a relationship, even if it's only at the home base.
Real consequences to choices made rather than just minor dialog differences.
Ummm, more conversation please (yes, it deserves repeating). It leads to feeling like you know the companions more which leads to caring about the story itself more.

DA 3 should be about what happened to Morrigan, the warden and Flemeth after witch hunt.

I would like it to be play tested more, and put out with a BETA label, or in a more complete format.
That said, I would love to see what happened to Leliana and where Morrigan and the baby wind up fitting in. I suppose a "second generation" story line would be cool.

And yeah, the voice of the main character is both annoying and unwarranted.

Pretty please let me keep my voice =) that would make me so happy! Really like the different tones and how they changed possible outcomes in different q's.
Agree on being able to give the LI a kiss or a hug when you swing by. Had completely forgotten how much I miss that until I read ejoslin's request.
I like having scenes with my companions so that was really good for me, hope to see that continued in the next game. Oki, more is always good so I would be over the moon with some extra time with them. The romance scenes were very well done so stick with this version.
I would like it if the mirror in the black emporium was in DA3, I have used it a lot during Act 1 with my Hawkes until my character looked right. Very happy not having to make a new one to fix something irritating.

-Bigger map and not just one city
-Lots of unique looking armors and weapons, yes we know, recycling is fast and fun but there is a limit when its still accepted and when its borderline laziness. Also just scaling weapons bigger/smaller dont make them new.
-Emotion wheel have to go. I hated it in ME games and I hated it in DA2.
-More companions like Aveline, she was good character and didnt become angsty or whiny even when she lost her husband. Respect for strong female character!
-Better story telling, no time skips.
-Better idle animations. Bioware animators, go infront of mirror and look how you stand, then look how the characters stand in the game. There are parts in DA2 that your character looks good when idle but there are tons of when they are just fugly.
-No recycled areas, said millions of times but this is really important.
-Wider areas. even when you are in tunnels they dont have to be narrow corridors. Make them more free roaming.
-Markets that actually look like markets and not just stands that crackheads have put together in 5min.
-More armors that look like Warden and champion armor, yes I mentioned equipment already but we really need these
-DA2 battle system and animations but no exploding corpses when you tap them.
-Qunari as playable race, also elfs and dwarfs.
-No more mailman quests i.e. bring this finger to random guy over there.
-Story telling wise there are tons of stuff NOT to do... Lets take whole DA2 and dont do that ever again when it comes to story. Make it good old "save the world from ancient evil"-story, that works!
-If the game is becoming too consolised, then scrap the ****er of from consoles and concentrate on making good PC-version and after that concentrate on porting it (snowballs change in hell of this happening)
-DO NOT RUSH WITH THE GAME! IF ITS NOT FINISHED THEN FOR THE LOVE OF GODS AND MAKER DO NOT PUBLISH THE GAME UNTIL IT IS FINISHED!!!!

Epic cutscenes, especially when there is a battle going on.
Like during Ostagar, or even when they were charing towards Denerim (after Alistair's speech).
I expected something like that during the Qunari invasion or at least at the end, but sadly...

To be honest, I thought Dragon Age Origins was better in almost every way compared to DAA or DA2. All those origins made for tons of replay value. Talking with the party at camp was a great way to get to know all of the fantastic characters. Being able to precisely equip everyone and use a bird's eye view every fight (on the PC at least) made it feel like a proper RPG. You had a huge amount of options, and the story branched a lot in the middle, where you could actually make the endgame different both by who your allies were (templars, or mages, golems or dwarves, elves or werewolves) and whether or not you have to make the ultimate sacrifice to slay the archdemon.
Still there were some things to like from both Awakenings and Dragon Age II. I thought the high level skill tress in Awakenings were nice, the DAA companions were interesting, and the storyline was fun. DA2, the best part was the voiced PC. Also I liked learning more about Qunari and Kirkwall.
The DA2 story was a lot darker than either DAO or DAA, which is not bad per se, but it left me feeling little desire to replay, whereas with both DAO and DAA I played through multiple times. Choices made has so little impact on the story, sadly I found that out the hard way, after multiple save/reload/try something different/get the same outcome events. Not to mention too much time was wasted in the story, skipping ahead years at a time, reusing the same cave, darktown and mansion maps over and over for supposedly different spaces.
So for me, DA3 would have the wide variety of main PCs, old school RPG party controls, and interesting alternative outcomes of DAO, the high level epic feeling of DAA, and the great voice-acting and expanding lore of Thedas of DA2.Storywise, I want to see what happened with Morrigan and Flemeth, The story would be awesome if it went deeper into Wardens, included places like Weisshaupt Foretess, Tevinter, Nevarra. Antiva, Rivain Seheron, Par Vollen, and Orlais. OK maybe that would be too much to hope for in DA3, but expansions and DLC for DA2 and DA3 could make it happen!

Before they release Dragon Age 3 I want a large expansion pack for Dragon Age 2 talking about what happened when the gang left Kirkwall and what happened with the mage/ templar/ kunari? war and Fereldian/Orleis possible war. Bring back the whole crew from DA2 in all their glory. I prefer them to DAO crew. I really hope at least some of them are playable in DA3.

An ending where I feel I made a real difference, real areas to explore and not just reused areas that I go to over and over again, and I would like more squad customization options. Overall I liked the game alot but I feel those three areas where DA 2 fell short.

A new protagonist carving out their bloody destiny against the backdrop of a Thedas ravaged by decades of mage-templar war.
A storyline that requires travel through multiple areas of Thedas, including Antiva and Rivain.

I liked to see the protagonist ( Warden, Hawke or new) chose to help the mages or the templars and have to travel to the different places in Thedas (Orlais, Tevinter, Ferelden, Antiva) to recruit people into your chosen army.

Shapeshifting spec that doesn't suck. Summoning spec. Owlbears.
Maybe change the shapeshifting and summoning specs to work based on enemies you've encountered with UI like Fade shapeshifting in Origins, so you can have more than a few forms and still have room for other abilities.
