Features from Dragon Age: Origins-
-racial choice for your characters (humans, dwarves and elves are fine)
-keep Templar specialization
-bring back Arcane Warrior, Battlemage and Ranger specializations
-dual wield warriors
-armor classes (light, medium, heavy and massive)
-choices that make an impact on the game's world
-the chance to equip your party's weapons/armor
-difficult dragon battles/final boss (the DA2 high dragon/Meredith was way too easy imho)
-character background/origins (always cool for your character(s) to have a backstory)
Features from Dragon Age 2-
-the action oriented combat system (loved it personally)
-keep Shadow, Duelist, Assassin, and Force Mage specializations
-fewer party members (if they are premade, six was fine enough, even just three or four would do)
-friendship/rivalry system (that was a good thing, hated Origins approval system)
-the skill/build system (that was great, you can play a variety of builds with DA2 which I liked, you can have characters that have the same weapon style but become two different characters in terms of gameplay style)
-the option to have your party as you wish without being forced to take a certain character or class if you don't want to do so (hated having only a certain few characters be useful in Origins)
Features in general I'd like to seel-
-I'm may earn a lot of hate for this, but I'd like to see less emphasis on NPC female characters/enemies. Not main PC main characters (which gender equality is totally fine as a personal player of both genders), but the overabundance of prominent female characters seems to outweigh any notable male characters. We need dominant male characters that are as important as Cassandra, Flemeth, Leliana, Grand Cleric Elthina, Meredith and Morrigan, very few male characters have that impact (or maybe its just the way I'm seeing it) and if they do they usually die (unlike the female characters mentioned). Plus I don't like the idea of my male PC's fighting females all the time (too politically correct). I say this as someone who loves female characters and does play female PCs alongside males, just an honest opinion no sexism or offense intended.
-The option to play a full party of custom characters. Create a party of four (or up to six) with optional recruitable NPCs that have the full banter/romance/talk option along the way for those who prefer to have such. I think the idea would be a great DLC but could be a potentially great standalone game.
-The story to take place in anywhere that is not Fereldan or Anglo-Saxon based. Would love to see Rivain or Antiva as the base setting, but wouldn't mind it being Nevarra or Orlais. Just as long as the PC isn't Fereldan...
-Personally this may have to be in a trilogy, but the idea of generations would be cool in this sort of game. Being able to choose someone to marry and potentially having a (male or female) child that can be your heir and become protagonist in the next game or DLC would be an awesome idea (and Bioware can do it better than Molyneaux)
Take Out-
-The Warden (his/her story finished in Origins)
-Hawke (this isn't Mass Effect, keep Hawke in Dragon Age 2)
-(pre-created) companions having fixed armor and weapon style (suited DA2's purpose but stunk)
-default characters (no more Sheploo, Garrett or Marian Hawke), if anything have several presets like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic with various ethnicities that look good, or take a page from Final Fantasy XI and have preset faces with hair/eye color options
-cheap DLC. Have less DLC but the DLC the size of Awakening. I want to see big expansions, not tiny little sidequests or 'bonus items' for $5-10
-the PC/main character being Fereldan or some form of England/Anglo-Saxon unless you can choose his/her ancestry. Time to let Orlesians, Riviani, Antivans, Nevarrans and the Anderfels have their say in the history of Thedas and as the hero/heroine
-male lead human whinebots (Alistair, Anders)
-all LIs being bisexual, I'm all for heterosexual and homosexual romance options and I play both, but I liked some characters being exclusively heterosexual and others bisexual better. Wouldn't mind an exclusively homosexual and lesbian character either.

Also those hybrid staff/sword weapons from DA2 which served only as weapons for mages, well bring back the Arcane Warrior spec and let them use this hybrid as exclusive only to them as both a staff and a sword.
Also keep Force Mages as well, I love me some Dragon Age style Adepts.

^^This.
Oh, and an actual good DA game. So I can forget the bad dream of DA2.

i disagree about the warden the wardens story is so not finished particularly if u playd awakening, i agree alistair and anders can be removed anders is a deutch and alistair complains alot, as to hawk being a companion only if u can import ur save from DA2 its not worth it if hawk is a suckish si generated like the rest of the companions, um i did like that each companion (aside from carver and bethany) had there own specialization id keep that and once again ( i know im going to annoy some people) Keep merrell
