Will specializations affect dialogue and npc interaction?  For example, if I have the Ranger specialization, will a special conversation or dialogue line be available when talking to a dalish elf for example?  If I have the Templar spec, will mages like me less?  Will npcs sometimes ask you for a tale or a song if you are a Bard?  Or do all they do is just unlock the 4 extra skills?

In my case, I  like the idea of my character picking up the Ranger spec for example, but I am not really interested in the skills all that much.  I just see him as more of a scout/outdoorsmen.  However it would be pointless to get Ranger if it all it does it make the skills available and I never get them.

The act of unlocking the specializations can have some very notable impacts."

Cool, thanks. I tried to do a search, but couldn't find anything relevant.

Yes, they do affect dialogue and npc interaction, according the the CC files.

I should hope people react differently to you if you were a Blood Mage compared to say a.... Templar.

Edit: Or I should say Spirit Healer instead of a Templar ><
