This topic was suggested to me by a user on another forum (thanks, DPX). Basically, who, in your opinion, would win a fight if we pitted every DA companion against his/her counterpart in the sequel?

1) Alistair vs. Aveline

2) Leliana vs. Varric

3) Morrigan vs. Merrill

4) Oghren vs. Fenris

5) Wynne vs. Anders

6) Zevran vs. Isabela

7) Shale vs. Sebastian*

I left out Sten because... well, he's Sten. He wouldn't partecipate in a whimsical tournament like this!

So, let's hear! Who would win?

* I pittem them against each other for two reasons: 1. They're both DLCs and 2. I'd like to see Shale crush Seb's skull

1) Aveline - as much as I love Alistair, he's no match for the woman-shaped battering ram! Aveline was much better at tanking than Al

2) Leliana - she probably fights dirtier!

3) Morrigan - she's ruthless!

4) Fenris - Fade ghost >>> berserker

5) Anders - no question.

6) Zevran - I think his Crow training was probably more rigorous than Isabela's pirate life, though it would be close.

7) Shale - don't think arrows would do much against rock...

I agree with Payroo except for Leliana. Because Bianca >>> any bow ever.

And as for Zev and Isabela, I think they'd call it a tie. And then test his reach and her flexibility :3

1) Alistair vs. Aveline - Aveline. Lady Man-hands is twice the man Alistair could ever be.

2) Leliana vs. Varric - Varric, Leliana doesn't have the tactical thought to beat him and Bianca.

3) Morrigan vs. Merrill - Hmm, giant spider VS blood magic? Blood magic.

4) Oghren vs. Fenris - Oghren. He can't die, don't you remember?

5) Wynne vs. Anders - Oooh, spirit fight? I think Wynne would, because while she can have faith in winning, Anders probably can't find anything to be revenge-y about against her. Plus, decades of experience beats using your electrified fingers to become popular in a brothel.

6) Zevran vs. Isabela - Too close.

7) Shale vs. Sebastian - Now, that's just ridiculous. Very entertaining, though.

1) Alistair. He is a little more on the attack side than Aveline.
2) Leliana. She also has melee skills. But propably they would talk each other to death.
3) Merrill. Blood magic beats transforming in a squirrell every time.
4) Fenris. But Oghren is pretty unkillable, so it might take some time. Rupping out his heart should do the job.
5) Anders. He has a more aggressive take on magic. And his spirit kicks ass.
6) Zevran. Though it would be less fighting than "who reaches the dagger first after sleeping together".
7) Shale. Arrows against stone aren't that impressive.

1.  I would have to say Aveline, even though Alistair is one of my favorite characters ever.  I do disagree about Aveline being a better tank though, at least Alistair didn't just stand there while a bunch of mobs just hit him <_<

2.  This one's tough, I'd say Leliana because she has more tricks up her sleeve and she's now a seeker, so who knows what new skills she has.

3.  Morrigan, duh, I mean come on, she's Flemeth's daughter and she was able to reactivate an eluvhian, sorry Merril, but you fail in comparison.  

4.  Though one again, I'd say Fenris only because of his tatoos.

5.  Wynne, if Anders did manage to kill her she would just get back up with the aid of her faith spirit, where as if Anders wants to use Vengence he's going to get hit twice as hard and he can't self res.

6.  This one I don't know, though I imagine a crow is more dangerous than a pirate so I would go for Zevran. *EDIT* Considering this is a 1v1 duel and Isabela is a duelist, I change my vote to Isabela.

7.  Considering how OP archers are in DA2, I'd say Seb, but realistically it would go to Shale.

1. Aveline, no question. Alistair is still a gentleman and wouldn never really go all-out against a woman regardless of whether she could legitimately kick his ass or not (in my opinion, of course).

2. Leliana only has a slow-acting bow whereaqs Varric has the machine gun-like crossbow. Varric would take this one.

3. Morrigan is a dirtier fighter than Merrill. Morrigan.

4. Fenris.

5. Anders has the spirit of Justice/Vengeance inside him which would give him the advantage.

6. This one is tough but I'd go with Isabela.

7. Depends entirely if Sebastian was given Stealth skills. If so, he'd win. Shale is a heavy hitter but she tends to miss her power moves a lot.

Lady Manhands beats Alistair in a fight. Alistair beats Aveline in an insult contest. If they are trying to seduce each other, those forced to watch are the losers.

2) Leliana vs. Varric

Varric wins. Archery sucked too much in DA:O. 

3) Morrigan vs. Merrill

Morrigan's got the ruthlessness baked into her. Morrigan wins through underhanded tactics.

4) Oghren vs. Fenris

A dual-wielding Oghren would crush Fenris in a fight. Dual wielding warriors were all kinds of broken back in DA:O. Fenris wins in a brooding contest.

5) Wynne vs. Anders

Anders wins. Wynne's fade spirit heals people, Anders' fade spirit blows up chantries. Wynne can't even lecture as well as Anders... Wynne sighs disapprovingly, Anders writes manifestos.

6) Zevran vs. Isabela

Whoever's watching (and possibly joining in) is the real winner here.

7) Shale vs. Sebastian*

Sebastian wins. Shale can't catch up to the Sebastian kiting. Unless Sebastian eventually gets tired, and then Shale just squishes his head.

OK, here's my opinion!

1) Aveline. As much as I adore Alistair, Aveline is perhaps the perfect tank. She simply won't go down.

2) Leliana. It's true: Varric is a war-machine. But let's not forget that Leliana has training as an Orleasian Bard. Varric may not even know what hit him.

3) Morrigan, simply because she has knowledge of magic far more ancient, dark and powerful thanks to Flemeth's grimoire.

4) Fenris. And since I don't like Oghren very much, I'd be happy to see him win!

5) Anders. OK, Wynne's Spirit of Faith is clearly overpowered but Wynne is a loyalist to the Circle (an Aequitarian, I think) and we all know how Anders gets in front of mages who bow to the Chantry. I'll bet on him every day.

6) Zevran. He's an Antivan Crow, for crying out loud! Isabela doesn't stand a chance. But I agree: they will probably find other ways to resolve their squabble.

7) Shale. Is there any doubt? And please, dear Shale, make him suffer!

1) Aveline. Full stop. I mean, have you seen the videos where she beats up Hawke? Hawke! Who's ripped ogres in two with his brain. You don't mess with Aveline, King of Ferelden or not.

2) Bianca wins this one, which I suppose means Varric gets it by default.

3) Morrigan. Merrill would be too busy making frowny faces and getting lost in the shuffle.

4) Fenris. Before the dwarf can even get naked and lose to a roast, Fenris would have his fist shoved...somewhere.

5) Anders. No question. Wynne's spirit is too let's-have-a-tea-party-and-be-friends while Justice is more mwa-ha-ha-ha.

6) Isabela. Always be on top much?

7) Shale. Squishy flesh-creatures go squish.

Man oh man does this topic beat some of the others going on right now!

4) Oghren vs. Fenris = Fenris - He'd trip Oghren who'd stay down drunk while Fenris removed his liver

5) Wynne vs. Anders = Anders - in the clash of the healing Abominations his Justice line gets him the edge

6) Zevran vs. Isabela = Zevran - he's a lucky survivor and a sneaky assassin.

7) Shale vs. Sebastian = Shale - Sebastian is a decent archer but get in close enough and he's very squishy

Anyways, he doesn't like human women much.
