Hi,

I'm in the middle of chapter 2 but have held off going further in the game until my new PC arrives. Currently running it on an XP machine. The new Win7 (i7 + GTX 570) machine arrives tomorrow B) and of course I want to transfer everything over ASAP.

Is there a guide or any gotchas I should worry about?

Thanks!

Yes it is easy. You put the disc in and install it.

What exactly are you wanting to transfer from one computer to the other?

I though the install might work ;) but I guess I am concerned about potential DRM and apparently installing DA2 on more than one machine and whether the DLC might react and not be available.

I don't want to be left with a standard install and without the pre-release extras I still like to use.

The only thing you need to worry about is your save games. Go to your My Documents directory and basically just copy the Bioware folder and everything in it onto a USB stick or whatever, then copy it to the My Documents on your new computer. Note that saved games are pretty fat (~10mb each) so delete any you don't want if you want to save some time/space.

DLC will be fine because you have to log in with the game, that will validate your install as legit so it'll all work.

I had to go through that when my Windows install died and I copied it all over, worked fine.

You'll be fine. I upgraded my desktop from XP to 7(x64) 2 weeks ago and re-installed DA2 (and ME2) without any issues.
