so glasgow is in scotland does that mean it has the same accent as everyone else?

Are you really this dense?
You're basically saying that Belfast accents aren't Ulster accents. Does that mean Glaswegian accents are somehow not Scottish accents? Last I checked, Glasgow was still in Scotland, ergo Glaswegian accents are also Scottish accents.

*Sigh*

You realise that technically it's "The United Kingdom of Ireland and Great Britain", right? Technically, it should be "The United Kingdoms of Ireland, Great Britain, and Man", but no-one except history geeks (or their children) really remembers that the Isle of Man is supposed to still have its own king. >>

People can't even agree why England is called England, so this discussion is a little pointless even if it was on topic. >> The fact is, Merrill's new accent is sexy as Hel's good half.

Anyway, no, Glaswegian accents aren't Scots. They're... something else. :P (I jest, I jest!)

I'm almost positive (because, you know, I could totalyl be hallucinating, I guess?) that I said "the Northern Ireland part."

Are you trolling? Or are you really... *headdesk*

*facepalm* Did I just back-read that correctly?

"England wasn't Celtic it was Saxon"?

The Saxons were a bunch of German mercenaries the Romans brought over to kick the Celts out of England! Then they got in a punch-up with the other merc tribe, the Angles, and we ended up with Anglo-Saxon england!

No-one, at any point in this thread, has said there is only 1 Scottish accent. Nor did anyone say there is only 1 "Ulster" accent.
YOU said however, that an accent is "More of a Belfast accent than Ulster", when actually - it's both. You make it sound like Belfast isn't part of Ulster.

Lets not even get into how the Picts started out god-knows-where, moved to Scotland when they got kicked out, went to Ireland when they got kicked out of Scotland, and ended up in Cornwall because literally everywhere else told them to F-off. Please?

How the US bailed europe out by entering the war and kicking them out of north africa and spearheading D-day. Then the whole Marshall Plan. What do they teach in school these days? Sleezy dress and texting?
