Thank you so much for releaseing one of the best role-playing games ever! With Dragon Age 2, I got to experience the story driven plot Baulder's Gate and Icewind Dale made me love. The improvements in Companion interaction have endeared me forever to some of the characters. I got to get a taste of this in the Neverwinter Nights and Mass Effect series. Though, I believe you to just keep getting better with it.
The story is what I game for and you have provided that time and again with improvement. Role-playing games have a new standard in my opinion and I can't wait to see the expansions and experiece the story's continuation.
The romantic choice are a very nice addition and immerses the player in even deeper to careing about the outcome of the various situations. I personally would rather have a friend who's got my back than a rival at my back, just sayin'.
The opinion of some verses others about a minority group is obviously a hot issue and a good story driver! I mean there are all these posts about the opinions of others and the actions they would take to express those opinions about a game they do or do not approve of based on a very sub element of the game as well as the story as a whole. It does set off a chain of reactions to the situation as do the main plot choices, however it only effects the game as much as you choose. Kinda like life, again just sayin;.
To me Mages and Templars are just a sub element of the game that do not neccessarily own more of the pie than the other specializations of Warrior or Rogues. Moreso, it's Blood Mages in particular that seem to be the real issue. It should also be said that the Templars are a subset of Warriors who are cronic lyrium users.
I know I don't like Blood Mages, but they sure do make the story more interesting and I for one am glad they are there to give Kenwyn Hawke and his lover Fenris something to do while avoiding templars and rescueing apostates.
In conclusion, I am sure similar discussions were debated over evening meal in the Chantry. I bet more than one mage complained bitterly to an older mage about being the disenfranchised and discriminated. Becareful before you cut something out of the story because you yourself don't prefer it. The story may not go anywhere without it. HAPPY GAMEING!
