Plus it's kinda dumb to only give away Mass Effect 2 for the PC. With which copy of Dragon Age II? Console copies? PC copies? If only PC, why are Console users being shafted? And since when has BioWare and EA had a promotion ad ready to go and the website not up? Even if this was a leak, you'd think they'd have the website ready. Is it a European promo only? The whole thing smells fishy to me.
Well makes some sense if ME2 is download only. These deals make much more sense when no packaging costs are factored into them.

Bioware is now offering a free copy of Mass Effect 2 to people who buys Dragon Age 2 on the PC.
All I can think is... WOW....really, Bioware? Desperate much? <_<
Exactly how far can you fall, Bioware/EA?
I mean its's barely a month after release.
Smart from a marketing perspective. ME2 has a much higher perceived value than their COGs; and if it helps sell a full retail copy of DA2 and increases odds of a sale of a full retail copy of ME3, it'll be good for them (and their retailers/distributors).
Bummer it doesn't apply to PS3s; might actually get me to try the ME series which otherwise isn't super appealing to me.

True.
Meh. If those plucky Europeans are fortunate enough to get a free copy of one of the best games of recent years with a copy of DA II, I won't begrudge them. After-all, they have to be Europeans. Paying all that money for petrol and whatnot.

If BioWare is doing this I suspect is has less to do with "desperation" and more to do with getting more people into the Mass Effect series now that ME3 is drawing closer.
By bundling it with Dragon Age 2?

Ehh,Unlike in US, Europeans still have same aproach to RPG like they did 5+ years ago. They are looking for gritty, evolving long story(doesn't have to be great neither) that requires lot of effort and time to complete and plethora of customization.
Saying that, i can see why DA 2 wouldn't sell great there(if it didn't0, since it doesn't have any of that.
That's why wattered down sequels like Arcania flopped there big time, and games like Gothic 1.2.3, BG1,2 etc.. are still strong.

Don't worry I'm sure they'll do that eventually but it probably won't be a second game from them considering the fact that I saw Oblivion being sold with Bioshock not sure if they still do that.

They are doing that for portal and that game is epic. Its marketing
It's bad marketing, it's a foot in the face of those who bought something full retail price only within 1 month of both release and this new deal of two for price of one. It really does come across as a need to boost sales given how short a time DA2 has been out. It isn't a good sign of a quality game able to stand on it's own two feet if needs '2 for 1' within month of release.

Managed to get that foot out of your mouth yet, Rockpopple? I'm sure we'd all love to hear from you.Rockpopple wrote...
What's hilarious to me is just how many people fell for this OBVIOUS joke and clung to it as a frantic affirmation to their fervent belief that DA II was a failure to everyone that mattered. I'd say "the yolk's on you," but I think this situation is just a tad too sad for that line.

Sales seem to be plummeting week by week. At the rate it's going, DA2 sales will be well below DAO sales.
Part of the reason for that is DAO. Personally I enjoyed it but a few of my friends who played never cared for it and won't buy DA2.
The sad thing about that is from what I can tell, people who weren't massively in love with Origins are having a lot of fun with DA2.

Maybe you need to read then? I've already been heard on this. On the chance that it's real, it's a European promotion for PC users. Oooooh, DESPERATE! And as others have already pointed out - whom I'm sure you've also ignored - other companies do these kinds of promotions all the time.
So I repeat: " a frantic affirmation to their fervent belief that DA II was a failure to everyone that mattered." Yolk's still on you, friends.
But it's nice to know that some folks see me as so threatening to their flawed ideology that they need to form a little posse to come at me. Makes me feel loved. <3

They don't do it so short after release though, that is the difference. They do it for classic titles and series that are related to each other mainly (not one that it's only relationship is made by same people) and ones if of different style or type that have been out for months or years not just one month.

Was Valve also desperate when they started giving away Portal for free even though they're one of the most profitable game companies in the world?
