The thought just occured to me. All the way back to DA:O, it seemed an "awesome" place (not in the sense that its good for anyone - it is depicted as being quite evil) with regards to storytelling.
I should probably mention that playing a Mage is my favourite thing, not only in DA (though I really do like the way mages and magic is depicted in DA:O and DA2), but in other game settings as well. Which possibly influences things.
But think about it: It would be quite the reverse of what we see. The Mages hold the power in tevinter; those who played a non-mage class would be the ones in an inferior situation. We would get to see this really dark place (even darker than Kirkwall, to my understanding), ruled by magic, with slavery the common thing.
You could play a mage who fights to secure his place in society (a politically ambitious character) or who wants to change thing for the "better" (aboilsh slavery, help the common man).
You could play a Rogue/Warrior who rebels. Or who just wants recognition.
Hell, you could even make it so it was possible to play a slave who rebels. That would be pretty awesome from a storytellling point of view.
Am I all on my own here when i say that i really would love to see Tevinter from the inside sometime? Or does most prefer it be kept as some Ominous presence in the background?
What are your thoughts on this?
Anyone else who would love a DA game set in Tevinter?

The next game is likely going to be in Orlais. If it ever comes out.

Personally, screw Tevinter. Kind of would like something other than just a truck load of crazy mages.

I would be quite okay with that.

Personally, I would like some conclusion/closure to both stories now (Origins and DA:2). I am not too worried where they end up being set.
We now have two missing heroes (the closing scene with the Chantry Seeker and Leliana indicated this) while Leliana hinted (if the Warden romanced her) at the start of Act III that the warden IS close to her heart. While Hawke disapeared out of choice but the Seeker is looking for their help to save the Chantry (possibly BOTH the Warden and Hawke).
That said, I like Tevinter as the ominous dark city, possibly they have something to do with these 'disapearences'?

I'm hoping it'll take place in Orlais AND Tevinter. That would be awesome.

Rivain and Tevinter have the lore bits I'm most interested in, so I'd be okay with that.

I'd definitely like to see the Tevinter Imperium but Id also love to see Orlais and Antiva too. Hopefully we'll be able to see all these places because they all seem very unique

Agree with the OP. I would love to see Tevinter. There must be lots of opportunities to tell stories, creepy locations, and complex bosses. Whenever I see a mage I always try to silence him/her first. That will be much harder in a country ruled by mages. Ghehe. And please no more qunari. I've seen enough of them. They only recite the Qun, have no personalities, and are just there for a fight.

I would love to see the "lighter" side of Tevinter...
I mean, I hope not everyone in that place is a Blood Magic wielding slaver bent on world domination lol
One of the things that I like about Thedas is the million shades of gray. There are Tyrants and heroes in every nation and I, for one, think it would be great to see the Imperium's side of the story.
Or maybe they do all abuse blood magic and use demons to carry their grocery bags!

Tevinter is definitely attractive but I share AngryFrozenWater's worry about then having to deal with the Qunari. Perhaps if there were a large Tal Vashoth presence and the Qunari were more peripheral they could feel like they add to the setting something more than brainless fanaticism.

Then it will be about slaves fighting for freedom.
The Dragon Age universe is pretty anvilicious for a "Dark" Fantasy.

They were more interesting in Origins when we weren't being beaten over the head with the evilness of free mages.
In DA2 even their architecture has been retconned to evil, and I doubt they could make a credible setting

I had my share of blood magic use with Kirkwall. I'd rather not see Tevinter. Antiva maybe? Sounds like an exotic place enough.

Antiva, Orlais, or the Qunari territories, or the Qunari homeland.

Yeah this, Rivain and Tevinter are the two main places I want to go since they are so much different than the rest of society... Save for The Qunari controlled lands but yeah w/e.. Rivain and Tevinter are the two places i mainly want to go

Rivain has some areas with Qunari Control. So that could be a way to bring that more into light assuming they had you exploring many regions. Though not sure why you'd need to go to Rivain or the other regions unless to built up support. Maybe even call for aid from Par Vollen if the threat was large enough?

It would be nice to play as a mage in a place where not everyone despises you (yet for some reason does nothing about it).
Otherwise you can always make a game that takes place on Seheron and Par Vollen and let us play as Qunari. ^^

I'd like to see Tevinter, maybe see how life is through the POV of a Magister of the Imperium.

I wouldn't mind Tevinter as long as I don't have to play as a slave of blood mages or as an **** magister.
Otherwise, I really have no preference where/what I play as long as the game is engaging and fun as DAO and DA2 have been for me.

Yes. Tevinter has always seemed like an interesting place for an adventure. A chaotic place where magisters rule over slaves, where a different version of the Chant is taught, where there are ever-present skrimishes with the Qunari and scores of refurgees around the place from the fires of these skirmishes....
Yeah, Kont-Arr. Should a future DA game take place in Rivain, then Kont-Arr is defintively a place I'd like to visit!
