I am of course talking about the elf who (potentially) joins the Dalish in the default history for DA2 (and iirc, you had the option of enablign this in DAO as well) in Merrill's 'Mirror Image' companion quest. My question is this: Is it possible to save him?
I'm wondering because Merril says a different set of lines to me while I'm playing a Mage (as opposed to earlier when I was playing a Warrior) but unfortunately at the moment I don't actually have any points in the Creation tree (yet I have a point in Spirit Healer) so I'm wondering if you do, is it possible to save the poor lad?
Also... I just got my butt handed to me by the Frost Horror and his spawns whereas funnily enough I didn't have nearly as much trouble with the Varterral or it's spider minions... /sigh @ reload.
Saving Pol?

I believe it's scripted for him to die.

I'm pretty sure it's not possible. She asked Anders in my game, and he couldn't.

I didn't really want to save him after watching what he did.
Raise him up and kill him again, yes. Save him, no. He's an idiot.

Why would you want to save him? lol. I mean sure Blood Magic can be dangerous but the reaction he gave its like she was an flesh eating abomination..

I always felt sorry for him, I remember telling him things would be all right among the Dalish in the Dalish Origin. And then he had to go run into the Varterral's mouth.
Damn you Pol, you made a liar out of my Warden

He's an idiot and a threat to the future of the Dalish if he survived long enough to breed.

Unfortunately not true if you listen to the Dalish Camp banter in Act I. There are several archery-hunters who give Pol "private lessons"....no gear required.

Pol dies. Period. Nothing you, Merrill, or anyone else can do.
(That my personal reaction was "Served him right." is beside the point.) <_<
