As you say, most Warlocks are going to stick with no or low ASF if they can, so I wouldn't think it would make much difference either way, and anyway, the Warlock Buddy as it is doesn't seem to take things like that into account. I want to make sure it does make sense so long as it's not going to screw balance over, and it doesn't seem like such a change will do that - at the end of the day, if a player wants to build a Fighter/Warlock around HB, probably only getting +2d6, they may as well get what benefit it gives them.
Warlock 3/Cleric X could be quite interesting, though, with Practised Spellcaster and the infamous Divine Power, maybe War domain too (I intend to "nerf" DP in my campaign anyway, but hey).

If you want to encourage that 1-2d6 HB dip for fighters/whatever then by all means make it ASF free. I don't think it's that OP either (assuming a nerfed draining blast) but I wouldn't bend the rules to make it especially attractive.
I don't know if I'd ever go for it with a cleric since you'd be losing spell progression, which is a bigger deal than losing a few fighter bonus feats and delaying access to the fighter only feats. I agree DP could use some nerfing (or just deletion tbh).

I think it's already ASF, though, I was considering adding it in. I just don't think it's worth it because Fighter X/Warlock 3 is clearly not that much more powerful than anything else, and it doesn't make a lot of sense either.
