On the DA wikia it says "the Kossith also known as the Qunari". Now I know the qunari are followers of a religion but im talking about the race that Sten and the Arishok come from, are they kossith?.

So this is a Qunari appreciation thread now? Good.
Anyone else finds it cool that the Qunari have absolutely individual identity? Their private names are actually their profession/role in qunari society. This is pretty cool.

In the Lore section of the official guide to DA2 it states that the Horned (or unhorned) race of grey/bronze-skinned giants are called the kossith - or were before Koslun founded the Qun, now they are Qunari (or Tal'Vashoth if they leave). I assume the guide got the info from the dev team.

We follow the Qun and thus we are the qunari, what has passed in far lands in evil times shall not be spoken of by the faithful.

Thought for the day: Never again shall the hell of the unenlightened blight the mind, body and soul of the qunari.

Anaan esaam Qun.

Art imitating life. Lots of people of european descent (myself included) have a surname that was once a profession. Eg: Baker, Smith, Taylor, Fletcher, etc etc.

The Qunari just take it a step further and eliminate given names.
Must get confusing as all hell when they have professional workshops though. Sten, meet sten, sten, sten, sten and sten. :P

Qunari simply means "Followers of the Qun" and as such can refer to members of any race, provided they are converts. I believe the Arishok even refers to the elves that seek him out for asylum as Qunari. Maybe he just tells you they are 'of the Qun', I can't recall exactly. In any event, Qunari is actually just the name given to a member of their religion.

The giant humanoid race the Arishok belongs to is the kossith.

New converts are Viddathari. They would probably consider them a Qunari once they submit to and then prove their roles and duty to the Qun.

There are two peoples recognised by the Qun: those who follow the path and those who yet shall, there are no races for such distinctions are false.

On the plus side, its very easy to buy them birthday gifts from Kirkwall's Accessory shops. Ring is very popular with the Qunari. Though some secretly prefer Ring or Ring.

Now that I think of it, maybe they spent those 5 years or so they were stuck there jewelry making. It all becomes so much clearer now...

My Hawke or Hero should never go to Par Vollen or any area with Qunari Control. I'd be too tempted to want to play Horse Shoes.

Is the Qunari Inquisitor a kossith I'm not sure?

Qunari is the name of the Religion that all Kossith follow, whereas Kossith is the name of the race. However, the other races have taken to calling the horned race 'Qunari' so much that the term now generally means the species.
