Well, I already had ME2 via Steam but I passed the code off to my son to download on his PC (sure I could have downloaded it on his via Steam too but this is better).

I do think the motivation here is a bit suspicious. Generally speaking you don't need to give away free stuff when your game is selling great, it's when sales are lacking that you need to give away free stuff. Also, wouldn't it make more sense to give away ME1 as a gift since it isn't a game that can still be found new in the stores? Giving away ME2, which is still the current game in the ME franchise seems a little odd. I would think you would want to give away ME1 to get people hooked on the franchise so they can go out and buy ME2.

Well, I am not in marketing but that's just my opinion. Anyway, my son (who loves shooters but doesn't like RPG's) is loving ME2. I am the opposite.

You have to redeem the code from EADM.

You have to redeem the code from EADM.

That's the thing, I did. And it's not only ME2, none of my games shows up there now.

edit; Meh, blasted EADM update; had only to relog, apparently:).

Another thing some of you might want to know. This weekend the EA store is having a sale on some games, included among them Mass Effect 1. So you can pick up the first game as well for just $12 so you can have some saves to import.

soo.. If I purchase DA2 through Steam (cuz we all know steam is better than EADM). can i still claim this offer since i got a copy of DA2 (through steam). and guessing i can claim ME2 through EADM?

or its either u buy retail or EA to have this offer?

As long as you have a code for the Black Emporium, you can redeem this offer. Doesn't matter where you got DA2 from.

(a code valid for) Cerberus Network comes free with new paid copies of the game, and makes certain DLC available "for free".  I got a code in the package when I pre-ordered at original release.

However, this new digital download does *not* include Cerberus...so that's one of the ways in which EA hopes this will make some money for them (the other being the lead in to ME3).

TL;DR:  You're correct, go ahead and buy Cerberus Network if you want it, as you won't get it otherwise.

no, you are wrong, it does comes with it.. i have already activated mine... and i got the firepower pack with the EA support staff...

no, you are wrong, it does comes with it.. i have already activated mine... and i got the firepower pack with the EA support staff...

how did you get it?  its telling me that i have to pay for it.   which I did on my xbox, but somewhere on this thread someone (maybe you) said they had gotten it working with this free download. 

i mean, i'll pay for it if i have to...  i was gonna buy the game anyway. but still.

I clicked the "Get ME 2 Code" from http://dragonage.bioware.com/me2offer/

After I gotten the code,

it automatically says "Cerberus Network: Activated
Click here to download your Cerberus Network content."

I only downloaded 2 of the packs and installed them... have not tried to see if they are really activated coz I am playing ME1 so I can import my saved game...

if not, ask the EA support staff.. they seems quite helpful, they even give me the Firepower pack even though I did not purchase the game this month...

sweet. i'll try to talk to them, cause I got the whole thing all set up, and when I went into the 'downloadables" section, it asked for money. lol. I'll contact EA. did you do that through their site? or call them?

hehe, yeah. i was actually given the code from someone else, as my copy of Dragon Age 2 is in Afghanistan right now, keeping my boyfriend from being bored while he is at war. sadly,... so i honestly don't know.

Got it installed with Cerb content. Having a blast playing it, and works better than expected on my comp. The extra content I get from Cerb makes playing it on pc worthwhile (i have it and have finished it, on the xbox360 but no internet).

Are you sure? All new copies should contain online pass code aka code for black emporium.
