So, have never used the EA download manager. Is this a one time download kind of deal or what?

1. To think people called this offer "fake" just yesterday.
2. This offer certainly is *not* aimed at most loyal Bioware fans. Those of them who had any interest in ME series certainly had both ME and ME2 already. It's made to boost sales of DA2 by bundling it with previous hit.
3. This "free" copy of ME2 comes with a hefty price of 15$ for Cerberus Network Pass and unlimited frustration of using EADM. New retail copy of ME2 (with Cerberus included) costs 20$ on Amazon, maybe even lower at your local shops. Do the math.

Your #2 has a flaw. Some of us had the ME series on the consoles. So not everyone who has it already had it on the PC.

#3 is kind of hurting because CN is $15 dollars so you're right. I am just going to not do that on the PC. And when I want to play with Zaeed, Kasumi, or any of the other extras that are not cross-platform then I'll use the console. I'm not paying for CN and all the DLC again.

The 1 million number is rounded up to stay in line with the rounding up of the10 year tale in of DA2? Right? I can neither use or give away the ME2 PC code to people I know so how about rewarding this loyal fan with some official sales numbers.

Thanks, BioWare.

I already picked up ME2 during the Steam sale over the holidays, but it's an excellent gesture :) Cheers on all future ventures!

I have mass effect 2 for the xbox 360 with all the dlc, minus arrival. Would i have to buy the cerberus network code/dlc again to be able to play it on the PC? Or would it recognize that i've already have cerberus network?

An update for my situation. I just got off the phone with a EA support member and he was able to add the cerberus network code for PC to my account.

Change the offer to offer the next set of major DLC and as a Loyal customer it would be nice. Not a method to improve sales of DA2 to get ME2 for free.

Thanks to gamers like you, Dragon Age II is off to a great start – breaking the 1 million mark in less than two weeks and faster than Dragon Age: Origins. We appreciate your support. As a special thank you for helping with the game’s early success, BioWare would like to present you with a download code for 2010’s Game of the Year, Mass Effect 2 on PC.

As always, we sincerely appreciate your support and passion as we remain focused on delivering quality interactive experiences now and in the future.  Look for more exciting things coming from Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and Star Wars: The Old Republic in the future, including our recent launch of Mass Effect 2 Arrival DLC.

To qualify and get your Mass Effect 2 PC download code, please follow these steps before April 30, 2011 at 11:59pm PDT:

  • Activate the Online Pass content that came with your copy of Dragon Age II (The Black Emporium)
  • Start the game and log in using your EA Account or create a new EA Account
  • Visit http://social.bioware.com/me2offer and log in with that EA Account
  • Enter your Online Pass code and click “Submit”.  You will then be provided the code for Mass Effect 2.
  • Open the EA Download Manager and enter the code to commence download (if you don’t have the EA Download Manager installed, it can be found HERE)
For more information on this and answers to any frequently asked questions, please visit THIS WEBPAGE :)

Is there any way to make it so people that dont have a good enough PC/Laptop could get the free game on the PS3?  I have bought my DA:O, DA:OA, and DA2 all for the PS3.

Is there any way at all to make this possible? Could you guys set something up with SNEA (Sony Network Entertainment America)?

This is great thanks! I was planning on buying Mass Effect 2 for PC or Xbox 360, but it looks like the choice was made for me in a very nice way. Thank you!

You can't please everyone I guess.

I, personally, see it as a kind gesture on behalf of Bioware. We get something nice for free, without any strings attached that I can, so we can't really lose out in the deal at all.

I actually already have ME2 for Xbox, so like a lot of console fans, don't have it on PC. It'll be cool to checkout and see what's different.

So sure, you can always wish that it was instead a deal to get ME3 and DA3 free, a week early, or some other amazing offer for those who already own ME2 on PC. Though I'd suggest the whole old "not looking a gift Qun in face area" phrase.

Thanks Bioware ^_^

Well, this is a nice gesture. DA2 wasn't as good as I hoped, but this will make up for that. Now just hoping DA3 will be better :)

Anyway, thanks ^_^

I doubt my lil' old Intel GMA 4500HD will run it but eventually I may upgrade and having this EA store thing saying I can download it again at a later date may actually make me replay it since I've got it for the 360 already and haven't went back to it once since beating the main game + shadow broker compared with my 4 playthroughs of ME1 but it's a nice offer(/apology???) regardless.

Since i already own ME2 i gave my code away. To a virtual stranger on the internet, in a thread embroiled in bitterness and hate.

It kind of made me feel like Jesus, so thanks.
