Now that Game of Thrones is well into it's second season, do you think it's possible for fantasy series like Malazan Book of The Fallen or The Wheel of Time to be made into a television series by HBO.

I don't know what those series are like, but I think it works for them with Game of Thrones because the fantasy elements in the books are reasonably subtle (minus the dragons, but even then, they are considered rare and amazing in the world, not an every day occurence), and magic and mythical beasts aren't all over the place, Lord of the Rings style. A lot of the focus so far is on political schemes, battles (in a historical style) and such. I imagine they'd try something Low Fantasy (?) again, but not something High Fantasy (?).

MBoTF & TWoT are high fantasy compared to ASoIAF's low fantasy, so the budget to produce a series like them would be astronomical. I just pray that in the future that if (big if) these two series are made into movies that M. Night Shyamalan stays the hell away from them.

Not sure about low fantasy v high fantasy, but WoT is clearly more "Lord of the Rings" - Ttrollocs, Mydraal, Ogier, etc.  Far less of that in Ericson's works.

I also think the magical aspects of Ericson's books are less "mystical" then Jordans, and can be shown easier, and with more acceptance from a broader audience.  Jordan's WoT, if turned to TV (which has been discussed, with rights purchased, many times) would like have a far narrower appeal and acceptance than Ericson, and much more so than GRRM.

And on another note, I saw nothing I could identify as a chain in Brock's pic.

True enough, but imagine how glorious the Battle at Pale or Black Coral would be if Peter Jackson was director. Speaking of WoT can you imagine how horrible it would be if they casted Ashton Kucher as Rand al'Thor. Back on topic,  Who do you think they'll cast as young Robert & Eddard circa Battle of the Trident.

That is easily solved with a loaded gun and a person with good aim firing at your feet.

Yeah I seen one like for 30 bucks. 50 pound pull. So if I miss or you don't step right, it won't take your foot off or kill you. I mean it'll hurt, likely stab you. But its not rated high enough to kill you. Well we always could be babies and go with a 20lb line I guess...

I might want to find a Chinese Cross Bow, I mean unless I'm trying to teach you the Waltz, then thats fully fine. But like, if your wanting something faster paced, then I'll need like 6 cross bows, and people constantly reloading them one by one, so we can keep up the pace. I mean Waltz is good too, but I always wanted to build a Chinese Crossbow anyways.

I think we could make it work without a Repeating Crossbow Pistol.

Maybe so, but I'm still building it. Then again I must likely will shrug and not. Sorta like that Catapult I wanted to build to launch flaming pots of oil. Why do I want to do such things? Well Why the hell not?

Makes me wonder If there are any good game of Thrones Character quizes out there, based off the books at least.
