I'm wondering how exactly they will wrap up this season in the next episode. I hope they don't make me wait a year to see Theon and Putin's son battle at Winterfell.

Still, I read in the wikia that Baelish came up with the idea of dressing someone in Renly's armor, which caused fear in enemy ranks and even made some switch sides. Up until now, Baelish's been pretty lackluster this season. He did mastermind the alliance with the Tyrells, but still the Renly armor part should have been there.
I also read that Joffrey fought but yet here he's a wimp. Why? We get it, we are supposed to hate him, you don't need to shove that down our throats every single episode.

That's why "The Rains of Castamere" played during the credits.
The Rains of Castamere is a song about Tywin's victory over the Reynes of Castamere and their rebellion. The Reynes are now extinct thanks to him.
Though for you NON-BOOK READERS, if you listen to the song, beware- its significance is more than just its appropriateness after what Tywin just did.
In A Storm of Swords, that song becomes MUCH more important. I'd avoid the comment section just in case.
Now listen to it and revel in your newfound knowledge.

There's no way they could have done that without either spoiling the surprise or the impact of the "burst into the doors" ending. Baelish is in the previews for next week, maybe they'll bring it up.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

Great episode! Martin should now go an write every continued episode. Glad that the battle was the main focus. Though I still would have hoped Joffrey to do something useful instead of being playing the whimp in basically every episode. Guess there is nothing more to him than that (mildly put).LPPrince wrote...

Ah, so that's the song Tyrion has been whistling in more than a few episodes. Really like this one.

No, I'm pretty sure he doesn't fight in the book. Tyrion puts him in charge of some catapults and he lets Joffrey have his fun by catapulting some traitors over the wall into the Blackwater. And then he more or less does the same thing as the show, runs off to the Keep after Cersei tells Lancel to go get him. Meanwhile Joffrey is at the gate to the Red Keep commanding crossbowmen who are firing on a mob outside the Red Keep. Joffrey last episode was more like Book Joffrey- he's more a coward and a delusional teenager on a power trip, not a total psycho.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

Eh...at least visually, I preferred Blackwater over Phillippi. Rome probably did a little better in having some establishing shots, but I enjoyed Blackwater more since there was more going on, with the naval aspect, even if the show really gimped that part of the battle.KnightofPhoenix wrote...
The battle was ok, but even for a TV show it wasn't that great. The Battle of Philippi in HBO's Rome was more visually impressive. But it's been a while since I've seen it.
