Brockololly: Which battle do you mean? Stannis, Danny or Jon?

How to say this without spoilers...the one up North...mostly for how it ends. The imagery associated with that is pretty awesome.

I hear the season finale will be 10 minutes longer than usual. Good to know they have plenty of time to wrap things up.

Indeed, though I doubt it's true. If it really is, cool.

Please let it be true.

And just seeing the promotional picture with Jon Snow on it brings me joy. Truly my favourite character in the whole series, with Dany behind. I would just love if they met in the series:wub:

I re-watched it last night on my laptop, close up with the brightness setting high, so I could finally see what was going on. It was a solid episode but I think knowing what would happen blunted the impact of anything. I'm really envying those who haven't read the books.

More drunk conniving Cersei- really good. Also Sansa trolling Joffrey. I thought they did a good job framing the conflict by having Varys talk about the prospect of having someone in service to the "old powers" on the Iron Throne, balanced by Stannis' sheer badassery.

Sandor and Sansa kind of fell flat for me. Maybe because they've already laid San-San on so heavy this season, and the actor is not as menacing as I always pictured Sandor, having him appear suddenly in her room didn't have the "oh ****" power that it did in the books.

I just love how the ship literally vaporizes and everyone shields their eyes except for the pyromancer.

Ahahha. Very nice and classy touch there. Must be greatest moment of his life since the day Targaryans got booted!
Roy Dotrice:wub: Loved his performance on  SOIAF audiobooks to bits, loving him as the Pyromancer. Wish they had expanded the role a wee bit. He makes a rather unsettling relic from Targaryan era. Can def see why Aerys liked the man! Dotrice was this close*shows with thumb and index finger - it was real close!* from getting the role of Pycelle. Would have been grand too.

Really enjoying Season II. Holy **** how well actor of Theon sold himseld to me few episodes back. That gaze awat from them burned kids. Good stuff.

Hating the modest way HBO handles everything that should look big. Judging from Blackwater, when they actually TRY to make scene look big..it still doesn't. Scene involving more than 10 extras ALWAYS ends up having this..indie movie or amateur theater vibe. I'm wagering it isn't just the budget. Does HBO  have anyone who has been involved in doing a  BIG scene in Hollywood in some remotely significant position I wonder.

Full SOIAF conversion to Crusader Kings II has been released  btw, hearing it is awesome.

What's with Tyrion getting like a small deep scratch on his face? I thought in the book, he pretty much lost a good portion of his face. :P

In the books he lost half his nose and got a huge scar.

Better if they just scar him for the show, as trying to mimic the books that accurately would be unnecessary.

Its easier for Peter Dinklage to perform without a ton of stuff on his face.

Well more like his nose. And the answer there is simple. Hollywood.

Well you know, spending makeup or CG for every episode gets a bit costly in the long run. And I'm sure some people don't want Peter's handsome face be ruined.

Yeah, Peter Dinklage is a sharp looking dude- Tyrion in the books is NOT.

Mismatched eyes, a big head, half a nose, scars, etc etc.

They wouldn't do all that to Dinklage.

Seems there's always something crazy going down in episode 9 of a GoT season.

First you had Ned, and we just had Blackwater.

Wonder what Season 3's episode 9 will deliver.

I officially called this some months back! I knew they'd give him some cute anime jrpg androgyn teenhairboihero-scar.
.......Weeel to be fair its bit too early to say. But yeah three golden stags says it will be a little sexy red line across his pretty angel face, rather than some ugly festering  mess as it well should:p

I hope y'all didn't actually expect there to be some huge drastic change with Tyrion's appearance in the show.

I ESPECIALLY hope y'all don't think less of the show for there not being too much damage.

That to me is really nitpicky. Can't blame y'all, I just hope you can accept it.
