Wasn't last season's finale also 10 minutes longer?

If it was, I didn't notice.

Never mind, it wasn't. Don't know whrere this "awesome, this episode is even longer!" memory came from.

10 minutes won't make much of a difference when you see it on paper.

Its what they do with an extra ten minutes that matters.

I'm not expecting it, but I'm determined to be disappointed none the less:p
Seriously, as amazing as Dinklage is as Tyrion, he is too handsome by half.

I officially called this some months back! I knew they'd give him some cute anime jrpg androgyn teenhairboihero-scar.
.......Weeel to be fair its bit too early to say. But yeah three golden stags says it will be a little sexy red line across his pretty angel face, rather than some ugly festering  mess as it well should:p

Hey know! Chicks dig scars. And what better way than to get the fan girls to scream more when Tyrion walks into the room.

They ought to have at least given him heterochromia.

Yeah, but I imagine the contact lense would eventually become an annoyance and/or pain.

At least, thats what I've heard from actors and actresses.

Would explain why the Targaryens don't have purple/violet/magenta eyes and such.

To be honest, we should be glad they did anything at all to Tyrion after Blackwater.

We didn't even get to hear the song at the end because they figured that would be a fantastic time to advertise next week's episode aswell as some awful looking Chloe Sevigny series that they also advertised right after the show. I know they advertised it after the show because they advertise it during every single god damn ad break. *head desk* Other than that it was a pretty good episode, I especially enjoyed the staredown between Bron and The Hound.

Hopefully I'll be paid in the next 15 minutes then will have both volumes of book 3 in my hand thanks to the magic of kindle.

Something that I don't dig is why did that Kingsguard slashed Tyrion's face?

I don't think the books state exactly who commanded Moore to attack Tyrion. My bet is Cersei because she is, well, Cersei.

ABOUT FREAKING TIME. The Blackfish's absense from the story really agitated me; especially since he played a crucial role in just about every single one of Robb's battles in the south.

I didn't understand that at all. By the way it was presented, it seemed like he snapped or something and decided to randomly kill Tyrion. Hopefully they elaborate in the next episode.

I hear the season finale will be 10 minutes longer than usual. Good to know they have plenty of time to wrap things up.

Well, that may make up for the fact that the episodes always start about 5-7 minutes late, what with 2 minutes of promos for other shows, then at least a minute - usually 90 seconds to 2 minutes - of "what happened last week", then the 2-3 minute opening.

Finally got around to watching the Blackwater episode. I'll have to rewatch it with the brightness adjusted later. Was a bit too dark on my TV.

I was not expecting Stannis' friend and second in command to be killed off so quickly like that. What did the Red Priestess say about fire and death?

Stannis' Hand of the King is Davos, in case you don't know his name.

I'm not good with names. But I liked the balding onion knight.

I'm going to guess that Davos isn't dead. We didn't see him evaporated like his son was, he was knocked into the water. I'm hoping he managed to survive, he seemed cool.

Woot!  And the Reeds, too.

Queen of Thorns!!  I'm hoping it's Maggie Smith.  She asked to get out of her Downton Abbey contract.

Also, Mance of course.

As I recall, its presented much the same in the book, so for now you're just as confused as Tyrion was as to why a member of the Kingsguard tried to kill Tyrion.

I'm guessing it will be explained next episode...its explained in the books at least.

Excellent!

So new characters for season 3 would now include:
  • Mance Rayder
  • Tormund Giantsbane
  • Daario Naharis
  • The Titan's Bastard
  • Jojen and Meera Reed
  • Edmure Tully
  • Brynden "The Blackfish" Tully
  • Selyse Florent
  • Shireen
  • Olenna Redwyne
  • Beric Dondarrion
  • Thoros of Myr
  • Ramsay Bolton
  • Vargo Hoat
I guess the only other ones for season 3 that would possibly remain to be cast outside that list would be:
  • Strong Belwas (sadly, I could see him getting cut alltogether)
  • Qyburn (he seems just as necessary as Vargo Hoat...especially if they're introducing Vargo and the Bloody Mummers there is no reason not to have Qyburn)
  • Mace Tyrell (maybe held for season 4?)
  • Edric Storm (although maybe Shireen is substituted for Edric?)
  • Ben Plumm?
  • Val
  • Dalla (both her and Val could maybe be held for season 4 or condensed maybe)
  • Styr, the Magnar of Thenn (could be condensed with Tormund maybe)
  • Hoster Tully (could likely be cut)
I'm guessing they'll leave the Red Viper and the Martells for season 4 and probably mainly focus on Tormund Giantsbane for the main wildling besides Mance.
