I don't think it's too much of a spoiler to say that Dany picks up another slave handmaiden on her next stop. Maybe they got rid of the other chicas so they could focus on this next one and what she brings to the story from her background. Aaaand I'm sure they'll use her or whoever else for the lesbian sex scene, geez. (For those wondering, Dany is not bisexual but in one scene she's fantasizing about/ missing Drogo, the maid sees her and... helps. It only happens once but apparently it's some people's favorite part.  -_-)

As for what she did to Xaro/ Doreah being out of character... I don't think it is. It's in keeping with Mirri Maz Duur and later events as well.  I imagine she suspects that Doreah was in on the original attack, not just profiting from it after.

She mentions a lot of times how she doesn't like killing people. On the top of my head, (minor book spoiler) I remember how the former leaders of a city she conquered hung innocent people, so she ended up hanging the leaders. She still felt remorseful, even though they were "evil".

Every time a Targaryen is born it's a flip of the coin. And she's not crazy at all, actually very level headed. Just don't F---- with her dragons.

The "out of character" comment may be more Zaro and Doreah than Dany. But I felt like it came from everyone in Qarth. It was like a parallel story. Then again, I don't enjoy her chapters all that much in the book so it doesn't bother me that they're changing it. I just hope they don't make it even worse.

And again, totally agree, the same thought. Yes, we do see something that isn't in the book, but compared to that scene, I do think that actually Dany's reaction isn't out of character.

Actually, it is about treason, not people and innocent people. She's a good person, yes, but she can't forgive any treason, at least when I take all the elements in the books from my point of view.  Mirri's case alone showed pretty much how she can be hard actually when treason does happen against her.

But to each its opinion, thanks for the answer.

Yea, as discussed a page back or so, they botched the Winterfell scene in such a simple way - by not having cast Ramsay for season 2. People not reading the books - as several in this thread - seem to have no idea what happened there.

It's stuff like this that kills me about this show.

Jon and Qorin? Yup, as Brock and others noted, was so lame on screen. Jon learned so much from Qorin in the books - not so much here. Here, yup, it sure can look like he killed him because Qorin insulted him. A few whispered words is a mere shadow of that plot line.

Dany and the House of the Undying. Another missed opportunity. So much foreshadowing, views to the past, all left out for a few minutes of Jason Mamoa in a useless, POS scene. Nice job, producers.

Tywin and Tyrion - this is what comes from writing new scenes, playing with how a character acts. Tywin is concerned about only 2 things, people - power, and the image of his house. Tyrion is an embarrasment to him simply because he's a dwarf. Tyrion's intelligence is overlooked because the way he looks does not convey the image Tywin wants. The various antics Tyrion got up to as a child - which those only watching the show have no idea of - didn't help. Nor did his penchant for marrying random women/possible ****s met by the side of the road (another thing I'm not sure show-watchers know about). His fondness for ****s doesn't help. So it comes as no surprise that Tywin shoves Tyrion into some dark corner as soon as he can - it's who Tywin is. Only that's not apparent in the show.

Arya - uggh. Has she has ANY character development? Her involvement in her own escape was a big growth spot for her - no more "do this for me". She became "help me/teach me to do for myself". That's missing in the Arya I watch weekly.

Dany - finally showed a backbone. No need to kill Doreah, IMO, but whatever. She's already down to just one bloodrider, what's one less handmaiden?

I could go on. I lack the will, however.

Jon killed Qorin b/c he got insulted by him? No clue how it goes in the books, but I was under the impression that Jon more or less knew what Qorin's angle was considering their --so evidently-- small talk they got, and that Jon hesitated a bit before he struck the killing blow. Didn't look like he had murder in his eyes.

@HoonDing "Sam, there is an Albino Walker standing behind you. Kill it like the rest."

No, they botched it. Jon kills Qhorin because that's the only way he'll be accepted into the wildling camp as an inside agent for the Night's Watch (and because he's dead anyway). The TV series showed Qhorin and Jon discussing this, but in the end they made it look like Jon just flipped and killed him in a fit of pique. TV Jon is a doofus.

Yeah, it sort of confused me as to whether Jon knew what Quorin's plan was or if he just killed him for no real reason. They had Quorin whisper something really vague to him a few episodes back, but it wasn't enough to make that scene clear as to whether Jon understood.

Awww the dragons were so cute in this episode! and Jaqen is Overpowered, he needs a nerf. I guess that's why we probably won't be seeing more of him.

Most episodes have lots of funny moments, that I found the lack of humour jarring, but not in a bad way. The only (probably unintended) laughs were the horse crapping and Hodor's sentimental "hodor". Was there some sort of significance to that? lol

I think Jon knew of the plan, but stabbing a sword through him wasn't explicitly mentioned. It's strange he didn't hesitate more, I guess Quorin's not as pretty as Ygritte(sp)?

Bets on whether Doreah or Xaxos eats the other first?

Yeah, I wonder if thats what the showrunners are trying to go for- make the audience wonder whether Jon actually betrayed the Night's Watch in killing Qhorin or that he did it knowing its what Qhorin wanted him to do.

The book sets it up so much better in Qhorin telling Jon initially about Mance Rayder's history before becoming a traitor and then gradually revealing what Qhorin actually intends to do, with Qhorin making Jon recite the vows of the Night's Watch as they get ready to make their last stand. And it sounds crazy, since the books set up Qhorin much more than the show does of being this legendary figure in the Night's Watch.

I wonder how exactly they will do Book 4 and 5 in the show. Will they split the PoVs like George did or will they show them all at once?

Funny thing is, I know which characters you're referring to.

So, who was the meanie spoiler-giving person?

The Tyrion Shae scene was a major tearjerker. But it's left me very confused over something I read about the books...

Some guy who didn't bother restricting himself from saying what's going to happen to a few major characters soon.

Luckily I never found these characters particularly interesting, so it's no great loss. Still, I would have greatly liked the suprise.

They're crap, I saw it.  A cheap plastic toy, a lawn ornament. I wouldn't pay $50 for it.
