Now they're just making senseless changes. Whatever.
They've pretty much killed most of the interest I had in the show. At best I might end up watching the GRRM episode and TWR but that's it.

Come on, they didn't change that much. I just wish they'd scrap Ros and give Aria and Sansa the screen time their arcs deserve. Ser Dontos didn't matter at all in Season 2, and he was kinda important in A Clash of Kings.GodWood wrote...

I have to disagree. I don't find ****s all that interesting personally, and there is Shae already.AstusOz wrote...
Would have preferred Chataya and Alayaya to Ros. We need some more diversity around. Plus, their whole culture is interesting.

Yes. He is going to write episode seven. It is called Autumn Storms.LPPrince wrote...
Has it been said if he's writing an episode for Season 3?
Well, I guess we know what episode the wedding will be in.
Seems a bit early for it, as it felt like it took place a bit after the midway point of the book. Seems like it'd be a good place to end the season, honestly. Cut to black at the end of the tenth episode right where the chapter ends in the book. Relative to the important things that happen after it, Joffrey's wedding feels more like a seventh episode than Edmure's.

Apparently the guy who played Greatjon Umber isn't returning for season 3. What the hell! He's both an awesome character and important to somewhat important to the plot.

He wasn't in Season 2 either when he likely should have been.

I'm pretty sure GRRM is not writing the episode of the RW. I think most accounts are that the RW will be episode 9. Which makes sense considering how the past 2 seasons have had their Big moments happen in episode 9 and then the aftermath for the season finale. I'm guessing they keep Joffrey's wedding for season 4, since it does happen after the RW in the books.

They changed a lot, not just minor points but major character arc changes and ones that make no sense whatsoever. I'm thinking here of Jaime's escape and Tywin's transformation into kindly grandpa.franciscoamell wrote...

This year, they're advertising that season 3 is going to be more action and "less talking." Great.
I guess we're still keeping HBO for now, but I've lost a lot of interest in the series.

I'll sort of give them the benefit of the doubt if they can bring in certain characters that should have already appeared in a way that works better for TV but I'm pretty much going to be watching for one moment in season 3 to see how they manage that.

Hmm, I think I understand what you two mean. I just notice that anymore when a show, movie, game, song, etc. deviates from the source material in any way, it's automatically viewed as a bad thing no matter what by a lot of people.
Sure there's the purists, but more often then not these changes ARE bad and the story losses substance and/or quality. It happened for the LOTR movies as compared to the books and it also happened with GoT. Not all changes were bad ( Like Khal Drogo being a badass in his last fight ), but most were.

I think Lady Melisandre says this line in the books, but the voice is certainly not Carice Van Houten's. I think it is Quaithe's voice.

Lots of looks at the new characters for season 3 there. Mance, Beric, the Reeds, Edmure, scarred Tyrion, the Queen of Thorns, the Unsullied, the Boltons! Good stuff!
