And why did they replace him in the first place for season 2?!?! Its not like the character role got diminished or anything. In fact, his entire dialogue for season 1 amounted to one word: "SWORD!!!"

My favourite scene, just for the hell of it, was the part where he rides into court. I'm betting you no other Lord in Westeros could have pulled of that sense of majesty and power as well as Tywin Lannister.

The horse **** also made me giggle xD clever HBO ;-)

While the scene did look cool, I think it was OCC and I much prefer the book version.

In the show, it looked like Tywin was making a mockery of his grandson and was too vain to get off his horse or bow down. While in the books, he acts like a real power behind the throne, not caring for his vanity, bowing down to the king he pushed as the rightful one, all the while having the real power.

Because he couldn't do GoT and The Hobbit at the same time, methinks.

He was cast for the Hobbit and something else I can't remember and so was recast in season 2.

Ian Whyte already was on the show as The White Walker from the first episode, and he played that same White Walker in the finale of Season 2 along with being the new Gregor Clegane, AND he's supposed to play someone else entirely in Season 3, so I hope to God they brought back Conan Stevens.

Like, hardcore. Cause he was cool. Even now as I picture the fight between The Mountain and The Red Viper I picture Conan Stevens doing the fighting.

Seeing as Stevens is a bodybuilder and wrestler (I think?), he'd seem appropriate, even if he was just a stunt double. Any ideas as to who he's playing in S3?

No no no, Ian Whyte is playing someone else in Season 3. Meaning Ian Whyte would have THREE roles(White Walker, Gregor Clegane, *no one knows yet*) unless Conan Stevens comes back to play Gregor.

For all we know Conan Stevens hasn't been brought back.

I wonder if they will still introduce Barristan as Arstan or just go straight for a reveal of him. It could be quite hard to conceal his identity with IMDB and the like.

I think you just nailed it right there.

If they're going to flesh out Mance Rayder's camp, then they'll probably have some giants. Probably put them in a suit/makeup like the White Walkers and  add in some CG to maybe make them look even bigger, like they do the direwolves and you'll have a Giant.
