Oh I didn't realize it was *him*

Yeah.

That stuff could be pretty horrific if they want and could actually be a really cool way to introduce a certain other bastard named Snow.  You hear a bunch of sort of rumors and hearsay on how this character tried to escape and so forth so maybe they end up showing that on the show.

Yes, it's "him". Other than not being upside down, you'll notice he is tied in the exact same manner of the flayed man of the Bolton's Sigil which is a nice touch, BTW.

All but one of the episode names leaked a while ago.

1: "Valar Dohaeris"
2: "Dark Wings, Dark Words"
3: "Walk of Punishment"
4: "And Now His Watch is Ended"
5: "Kissed by Fire"
6: "The Climb"
7: "The Bear and the Maiden Fair"
9: "The Rains of Castamere"
10: "Mhysa"

Provides some insight into what's happening in the episodes...for people who have read the books. In episode 4, I know who "His Watch" refers to. Kissed by Fire is an obvious reference to a certain character. The Climb is obvious as well. "The Bear and the Maiden Fair"...I think I know what that refers to, but would have thought it would be a later episode than 7. Episode 9 is obvious, and Mhysa is a reference to Dany's character...though I can't remember exactly where she was when it was uttered first. (after 1, 2, or 3?)

Seems the season will be covering approximately the first 800 pages of the book, leaving the last 300+ for the next season.

The titles have multiple meanings. For example, I'm quite sure episode 5 "Kissed by fire" will feature

BOOK SPOILERS!

both the sex scene between Jon and Ygritte and the Hound's trial-by-combat against Beric of the flaming sword. "The Bear and the Maiden Fair" will probably feature both Jaime and Brienne against the bear AND the arranged marriage between Tyrion and Sansa.

And yeah, the title of ep. 9 is kind of self-explanatory. *shudder*

END SPOILERS

This season and the following have the potential to be the best - the third book was the strongest so far, at least for me.

New 30 second promo- lots of dragon action and a bit spoilery. But looking awesome!

Also saw that Time Warner and a bunch of other TV providers are having a free HBO preview weekend this coming weekend, so that should make it easier to watch the premiere this Sunday.

You could start, yeah.

Apparently at the exhibit you can take a picture sitting in a life size replica of the Iron Throne.

Makes you wonder how many people there are gonna be aware that an actual Prince was sitting in their fantasy throne.

Supposedly, if TVGuide magazine is to be believed, Season 3 will cover the first half of Storm of Swords and not the whole book.

Which, honestly, might make this season really good because they'll be able to focus the story a bit better. And I read that the total budget was 60 million dollars and it'll be spread out a bit better then last season.

You should dress the part.

Yes, you must keep it a secret about how you're one step closer to ruling the world =P.

Dress the part? Bah.

Jeans and a sweater, most like.

People don't usually think of it this way, but whatever someone of royalty wears is "looking the part" because we are the ones defining it.

Its the difference between leading by expectation and leading by example.

So :P

If any of the Five Kings/Queens are there, I need to educate them on real life attire.

I have some noble blood as well, but not from any kings. Just some French lord who raped a lot of Italians and then wrote books about those adventures.

I think he would fit well in the ASoIaF universe.

Plus, with my skin tone and long hair, chances are people there are gonna think I'm an actor from the program who plays a Dothraki.

/tempted to pretend that is the case

I have wondered myself to whom my lineage dates back.

I only know up to my grandparents on my father's side and my great-grandparents on my mother's side. My great-grandfather dressed up in full Native American regalia and was half Native American himself, but I'm not certain if the reason he did that was because he was a chief or if it was because he just wanted to embrace the Anishinabe blood he carried.

My family, on both sides, doesn't really know much about our past. Shame really, because you need to know your past in order to shape your future.

My lineage probably dates back to some drunk Scottish fisherman who drowned by the North sea.

My lineage extends to Muhammad, via his grandson Hassan. I actually have the lineage doc with every single name from 7th century till this day (my name is on it). It's apparently centuries old.

They had .doc files centuries ago? :o

:D

My ancestry's nothing special, probably just a bunch of slaves on my black side and I don't believe there's any nobility in my white side, lol.
