Just as Prince said, it goes to personal preference. I at first saw Cersei as nothing more than a b*tch, but after reading the first two books, after learning about her backstory I started to sympathize with her.

Interesting, I had the opposite reaction.  I find her to be a deplorable character; her one redeeming quality being her desire to protect her children.  Seems Jaime is the good twin.

Strange.  Probably my two least favourite characters from the books are both mothers: Cersei and Catelyn.

And jousting little people!

It actually took me quite a while to get that...but now I remember the reference.

All things considered, I would say this episode paid off. I wish they could have spent more time with Dany, and more time with Mormont, but I was left satisfied. My honest guess is that they're doing what they did last season, and saving their big budget stuff for episode 9. It's hard to say for sure. This is a show on a budget, after all, and with there being so much in the books, they had to spread it out a lot.

I'm still fairly certain I know where Dany's story is going to end up at the end of the season, as well as Kat and Robb. I can guess at Arya's, but the pacing doesn't seem at all right for her to end up where I think she'll be. Sam...it seems like they haven't left much for him to do for the next two seasons except run away from the renegade crows. Stannis will be at Dragonstone with his brothers blood. Bran...well, will he even make it to Queenscrown? John, I'm not at all sure. Sansa, Joffrey, Tyrion and all the rest of the Kings Landing crew...I'm pretty sure we will see some sort of union in their futures.

This episode was bloody amazing. The pulled that scene in the end perfectly. I was really dreading that they'd rush it, but no, it was suspenseful, just like the book. Too bad they could not translate her thoughts and doubts, but it was a nice change to see Danerys becoming the bad-ass she was meant to be...until, well, you know.

The only part that felt off was Varys explaining his castration to Tyrion. It felt sudden, unnecessary and the scene did not fit the drama that came with it. But that little twist in the end was perfect and completely redeemed it in my opinion. It really defines the subtle nature of Varys, and how many ****s he really *does* give.

OMFG. Mayhaps best episode they've ever managed. Everything worked magnificiently.  I just hoped it'd ever end. I tells ye, this episode mounts the world;o I sense it clearly in my geek bone how people, those who have never touched the books included, will love this eppy to atoms.  One of those very few episodes during which I just forgot I technically know everything that is going to happen and just enjoyed the ride. There has been like two or three episodes in entire series  that have been able to do the same.

So many scenes written  specificially for the show. And by new gods and old..virtually all of these scenes were so bloody brilliant. Cersei Vs Tywin was such a work of art.

Things up north worked well, which is very  unusual.  They even added couple o trees! I've decided nothing beyond-the-wall usually manages to be any good TV.  Certainly not when Jon is on screen, actor blows severly.  But yas, houseparty@Casters worked great.

Regarding Stannis&Mel from two  weeks back,
Stannis is a highly desperate pretender to throne  with far greater worries than romance or lust!  Is it not most likely option he lusted for a new shadow baby or three rather than some bad romance with Mel? He comes with many enemies, humping couple of his enemies to death surely seemed like an awesome idea.
Having said that, I'd dig the absurdly pragmatic lawful neutral dude from the  books as well. There are very few things in series that really tick me off. Way Robert's brothers got handled  being such thing.

The thing is, she became the most powerful woman in Westeroes. She gained control of the very system that worked to put women in skirts while the boys learned how to swing swords. And yet she squandered it all because of her misplaced pride in her own competence, as well as her pathological paranoia.

Yet what did that serve her? Tywin is a steadfast conservative, and never intended Cersei to play any part in politics. She was thought to behave as a lady, cement an alliance and raise royal children. Tywin never raised Cersei to be skilled in ruling or in political intrigue, which she often blames him and society.

And Cersei becoming one of the powerful women in Westeros sadly didn't change her opinion on anything, since she stlll nothing more than a women and treated as such in court, as she explais to Sansa.

Oh, I just love Margaery. She is playing Joffrey like a fine tuned piano.
And that look she gave Cersei.

I also loved how Varys managed to get his hands on the man who castrated him. His dialogue is also much stronger than in last season.

We should probrably enjoy Daenerys being worthy of the name "Targaryen" while we can. She will reach and conquer Mereen still in this season. "brrr".

RIP Lord Commander Jeor Mormont. You were too honourable for Westeros. I only wish he had taken that bastard with him and said his final wish to Sam.

*Theon begins to cry*

Theon-"My real father lost his head in King's Landing."

Not gonna lie, I started getting a little emotional at that part in the show.

Yeah. No matter what horrible things you've done(and Theon's done a few horrible things), no one deserves what happens to him. Especially later on.

Wait, did they take parts from Dance of Dragons for Theon's scenes in the show or have they written their own scenes?
If it's the latter then I feel so goddamn sorry for him right now.

So far they've drilled into Theon's feet and peeled into his fingers. So no, they haven't gotten to the worst parts yet.

Margaery is playing a game, she's got Joff around her sexy little finger. I doubt she found that funny xD

P.S Loving Margaery in the series. Never really got into her in the books. Oh, and the Queen of Thorns is awesome, I just need to hear "that's good, now LOUDER" and I can die in peace.

That much was obvious, but it didn't make the scene any less creepy.

My brain hardly works most of the time... that's obvious too unfortunatley

What I found creepy was Ramsey's face when he brought Theon back :D

I wonder if the makeup artists will successfully make his transition from Theon to Reek as jarring as it is in my head.

They'll probably tell Alfie Allen to lose a little weight(just a little, not enough to well you know), then have makeup do the rest of the work.
