Was Edmure Tully such a dunce in the books as well? I don't remember.

The actor doesn't fit him. The guy who played Faramir would've been a better choice, not this... Gareth Southgate clone.

I know.  He was miscast as Brutus in HBO's Rome, too.  Obviously he's got a good agent.

Yes, Edmure's a dim bulb.

I imagined Edmure as looking a bit different, but I think he has the right personality.

Edmure in the books did not strike me as dim, but he did strike me as lacking audacity or resolve.

See? This weeks episode was a great way to prove that a cold, calculating man like Stannis is human; not by having him dry hump a priestess on a beach.

Also, anyone else feel that the jars of (you know what I am talking about) were unnecessary? It did nothing to advance the plot, and nowhere in the books did it imply that she had such grotesque fascinations.

I was fond of the scenes between Davos and Shireen.

I always knew Stannis' wife was creepy, but she was definitely at a new level of creepy.

Yeah, Selyse is creepy. That and she holds those...well, you know, over her daughter.

One, because she's a daughter and not a son, two, because of greyscale.

Props to Davos for not giving a damn- it seemed like even Stannis had trouble looking at her.

Is Loras not Kingsguard in the show? And can we presume Willis Tyrell does not exist? Damn Tywin is cold wanting to marry Cersei to him, because she really had a great time with the last dysfunctional marriage.

Robb Stark talking about justice... did he forget the "justice" that his father recieved? He clearly knows he is outnumbered and that time is against him. Yet even when the cost of his choice are so very clear he refuses to compromise his honor. It's frustrating to watch him, far more than with Eddard.

Rose Leslie Interview

I love her for reading the books, being a huge fan, and above all that being an amazing actress

Plus she's royal, so I'm a bit biased

It seemed to me he had trouble looking at her because it was an awkward meeting for him, not because of her greyscale. He fought in the Rebellion, was part of Robert's council, is currently fighting a war - she is basically a stranger to him.

He doesn't know what to say to her because he was always preoccupied with his duties.

Yeah I'd say his being away for so long was part of it too. He left abruptly as hell though.

Of course, he knew he had to make room for other cast members. :P

Wow, really good episode. Liked it better than last episode. The fight scene it opened up with was considerably better than I had feared, and there were some truly emotional scenes in here. The execution scene was profound, and I definitely felt a turn around for Jaime.

Selyse was beyond creepy, and that's one thing I think they have taken over the top. Having her keep her miscarriages like that was a bit much, and the scene could have benefit a lot from cutting that out and just let her be naturally creepy. I was half expecting one of them to be the Stannis Shadow Monster looking out and saying "kill me!"

Robb Stark is just frustrating to watch. He speaks of justice yet did he forget the "justice" his father received? Even when the costs are horribly clear he refuses to compromise his sense of honor. He is obviously a skilled commander so he should know he can't afford these sort of losses.

Robb should have long ago found the most annoying man the North had to offer and sent him to harass crazy Lysa Arryn night and day about sending forces join Robb. It probably wouldn't work but if it annoys Lysa Arryn it's okay in my book.

I swear, the Westeros has the weirdest fakking judicial system. Clegane gets accused of murder, but gets off with trial by combat, and John Snow gets accused of treason and gets off with trial by snu snu. Why can't our courts be this awesome?

WOW. What an episode. Frankly, i'm almost speechless.
Ygritte: "Lets stay here a while longer. I don't ever want to leave this cave, Jon Snow. Not ever" :crying:

Arya: "I can be your family" :crying:
Gendry: "You wouldn't be my family. You would be my lady" :crying::crying:

Arya: "Could you bring back a man without a head? Not six times, just once." :crying::crying:

Shireen's hug to her father, and her teaching Davos (who just recently lost his son, in case you've forgotten) to read. When you see such innocence, and cheerfulness from a little girl who's suffered a debilitating disease, and probably locked  up in isolation her whole life, its just :crying::crying::crying:

And finally, of course, the crowning jewel of this season, the bath scene with Jaime and Brienne :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

The episode of bawling. Jeez.

Edit: and how could I forget, Tyrion showing so much compassion for Sansa, without a hint of his trademark snark or sarcasm, upon learning of the marriage arrangement.

The Tullies just aren't very impressive folks, Catelyn for the most part excepted.

Too bad Kraznys is dead. This episode would garner so many curve of the ass discounts.

I'll probably be more in depth when its not 4AM.

Man, this season has been really good and a big improvement over last season.

My only nitpicks with the episode is how they've seemingly merged Tormund Giantsbane with Styr, personality wise. The man needs to let loose a big "HAAAAAR!" once in a while.

And the thing with Selyse keeping her stillborns in jars or whatever? Eh....I can maybe guess as to their purpose (unless they're just set dressing) but visually it looked a bit too sci fi or horror for the show. I guess its a quicker way to show how out of sorts Selyse is and how even Stannis thinks she is a bit of a nut.

I'll post more impressions later, but I was pleasantly surprised by Shireen! I know, I know, oh, oh, oh! Excellent end credits song!

Well, that was just unnecessary. We already had Lysa breastfeeding her seven years old kid, Selyse didn't really need to keep babies in a jar. She was always unpleasant but not insane.
Are all middle aged women in Westeros out of their minds? Fetus in jar for the Iron Throne. It can't be worse than Joffrey.

And Arya. Oh Arya, my poor baby. She almost made me cry twice in this episode.

And he hasn't mentioned his member once. They are butchering his character.
