If any characters depiction needs to be questioned, it's Stannis's. I still can't get the scenes out of my head where he begs Melisandre to dry hump him on the beach and when he screwed her right on top if the goddamned painted table. <_<

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. What? And beach humping? What? Is there someone else called Stannis on the show or something?

I rewatched the episode again earlier, and I have to say-

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau deserves a goddamn award. That scene between Brienne and Jaime...goddamn.

Tywin losing his calm and shouting and his children? That's a ****ing insult to his character.

You mean the way he slammed his hand at the council table and shouted "Enough!" in the books? Yeah, insultment indeed. I don't judge them implementing a scene where he raised his voice after Cersei started bickering, they way he raised his voice in the books when Tyrion and Cersei were bickering.

And at Tywin not recognizing Arya, how the hell would he do that since he has never even seen her? Don't see why Tywin would regognize her when no one else did either.

I don't know if he'd ever be nominated, but after that, he DEFINITELY should.

Thoros doesn't know how, the first time was inadvertant. It just happens.

Hence the "Its the Lord of Light brings you back. I'm just the lucky drunk who says the words."

Why are the Starks so dumb? Frost on their brain?

Kevan is waaaaay more sympathetic to his brother than Tyrion or other characters, who despise and fear him. But we know, he did love his wife, a particular reason why he loathes Tyrion, and he did smile once. But, he never remarried, one would think that Lord Tywin would take the opportunity to use it to his advantage. He never does. Perhaps that says something about Tywin Lannister that all the other characters miss.

I think KoP summed up power really well in one of his blogs: "Power is an image, after all." (Yes, I'm a semi-fan/stalker KoP, deal with it xD.)

What Martin did was give us the Tywin everyone else saw, the Tywin that was feared, respected. Tywin, Hand of the King and the *real* power behind Westeros. We never saw who Tywin the *man* was, only hints here and there.

One scene which baffles me even today is *SPOILERS*

Shae in the Hand's bed. I'm not sure what was going on there, but it seemed by Tywin did enjoy his ****s, which made him kind of the biggest hypocrite in the series. Unless I totally misunderstood that scene. (I was sucked into the moment, it all went by really quick.)

That....and him not realizes who Arya is...is like being smashed in the face over and over.

Regardless of whether or not Charles has read the books it doesn't matter. He doesn't write the script.

Has he ever seen Arya before anyway? Prior to the events of GOT. I think it's a bit unfair to have Tywin as the intellectual super-power of the world. Don't get me wrong, he's a master-mind, a bloody genius. But he isn't god.

Tywin's never seen her before, so thats why he didn't recognize her. How could he?

Alright, "overly-lustful for a cold, pragmatic character" would be a more appropriate desciption (not as exciting, but I suppose I exaggerated a bit).

But the second definitely happened and is completely OOC for Stannis.

Stannis and Melisandre having sex to create a shadow baby isn't OOC- thats how it went down in the books. Heavily implied, if I'm remembering correctly.

Tywin is better than at least 33% of the other characters.

I'm interested to see which character you think is good.

It was certainly Stannis-derived by some means. Knowing Martin, the means may well have been sexual.

No more OOC than Tywin sleeping with Shae. There are multiple dimensions to these characters, and Stannis is a man like any other. Yes he is all those things, but there is more to the man than that.

The scene was lustful, yes, but it was a mile and several light-years away from being 'romantic.' To me, it was kind of awkward, just like his scene with Shireen. Furthermore, on both occasions were his motives driven by practical reasons: "a son" (in the literal sense) and "a son" in the form of murder. Of course, the heat was there, the man shags twice a year if the books are to believed, and that's a lot, even for a man like Stannis, who lived in a world where his brothers were the pimps of Westeros.

We need a spoiler-free thread for GoT it seems.  Or just people considerate enough to not give the game away.  Even if we had a spoiler-free thread, someone would fudge it up.

The turning point for me was a couple episodes ago when he lied to the brigands about Brienne's dad paying her weight in blue sapphires to prevent her from being raped.

He does that for a different reason in the books.

A less noble reason.

Also, it's made pretty clear Melisandre and Stannis are sexing in a chapter in a book that hasn't been made into a tv season.

She was like that on Downton Abbey.

Not that I watch Downton Abbey or anything, no way. I eat raw beef and lift real heavy stuff.
