Ugh, quite glad to see Ros go. Was afraid ever since the final episode of Season 2 that she would keep having a larger role in the series as it continued. Glad that never happened. Still, quite a gruesome way to go.

Seriously? I loved Ros. Apparently so did the showrunners, mentioning its unfair how people have perceived her, though they get it.

Funny thing, GRRM loved her too, and decided he was going to cameo her in the books, though I guess thats completely off the table now. REWRITE.

Ugh that was gruesome. Can't say I'm sad because I never really cared about her but that was just twisted. Reminds me how much I despise Joffrey and that I really shouldn't like Baelish as much as I do.

I actually feel bad for Ros, such a gruesome way to die.

The whole Littlefinger scene was very well done.

It is impossible for anyone who hasn't read the books to speak about this series online. Every singe page on every single forum is quaranteed to have some small sneaky out of blue  off-hand remark that will  spoil one aspect of the series or another.

In slightly related news, Game of Thrones mod for Crusader Kings 2 is coming along pretty nicely.  Officially it is just early beta still but it seems quite finished and playable to me. Even if you don't care of the actual game-play, I recon it makes pretty awesome experience to have it running on bcground while reading the books/watching series. Provides pretty detailed map, locations and most importantly, them family trees. Kinda like viewer's guide or somesuch.

Pretty awesome game too, which prolly counts as a bonus! It nails atmosphere of books infinitely better than either of the pretty bad official games.

Great... Now they're making Tywin some homophobe to further cement his "villain" status to the simple-minded audience. Seriously that piece on Loras was unnecessary...

Joys of joys.

I actually didn't care too much for that interaction between Tywin and Olenna, as much as those 2 characters have been great on the show. Olenna's banter felt too modern or something. Her trying to tease Tywin about his boyhood "experiences" felt kind of... meh.

I don't think they're making Tywin out to be a homophobe within the world of GoT. Sure, maybe looking at him from our POV you might think that. But he doesn't give a **** about Loras' sexuality really beyond the practicality of Loras acting as the heir to Highgarden and being able to produce offspring. Being gay might make the whole producing offspring part a bit less likely if he isn't inclined to get with a woman.

I'll have to watch the episode again however. I'm probably missing something. Good episode but not quite as good as the last couple have been. It had some really lovely looking and well composed shots but the writing was a bit hamfisted at times- Littlefinger gave a nice speech there with the montage but I wish they would tone down Littlefinger's outright villainy and outward scheming. Make the guy a bit more of an enigma like he is in the books.

Looking forward to next week's episode though, GRRM wrote it and Michelle MacLaren is directing. McLaren directed some ofthe very best Breaking Bad episodes, so she certainly has the directing chops.

I would have put it off as Maester Aemon.

P.S. The RPG (which-is-not-an-RPG) has a really great story. To bad the bad VA and gameplay put it down.

I've got to play the RPG. That's more or less what I've heard of it- the story is surprisingly good, especially if you're a fan of the books but the presentation and gameplay leave something to be desired.

2 weeks in a row of pure dialogue and no action. I love the show, even love these last couple episodes, but I want some more action or exciting cliff hangers!

Yep, very good inter-linking story, and some very tense moments. Predictable at points, but then again, I have to go back to my thesis on that one. The more you get into plots, the better you are at predicting things.

Get it on sale, though. I don't want to be the one to prompt dissapointment through my kudos xD

Other than the scenes Beyond the Wall; which were absolutely perfect; and Jaime and Brienne, everything feltg a bit lackluster.

Ramsay made me laugh; that is SO not his purpose; and we didn't get the sense of Theon having to endure days with a skinless finger; Tywin and Ollena's dialogue just was not as captivating as in earlier episodes; we didn't see Sansa's immediate reaction to the news nor Shae's; Bran&co are not doing much; just tell the story already; Joffrey keeps taking credit for Cersei's villanous deeds in the books; Petyr's monologue felt disconnected because he is supposed to be in the boat.

Hopefully, next week's will be better. I've waited years for that bear.

Cersei's villanous deeds in the books

There'll be plenty of time for that in fifth season (which should be Feast for Crows.) I wonder how they're going to make that season exciting, since it's pretty uneventful compared to the other two.

Helloooo, Hidden Targaryen=Maester Aemon in the Night's Watch. Revealed in Season 1.

Don't be so quick to jump on the "They're ruining everything" bandwagon, though its understandable as there ARE spoilers pretty much everywhere online for A Song of Ice and Fire.

Great books- more should read them.

Did I miss something? What about that episode was misogynistic?

My guess is Ross' role in the series. Which is blowing things out of proportion here.

I seriously don't know how you can call this episode misogynistic when you had TYWIN FREAKING LANNISTER getting a taste of his own medicine by the FREAKING QUEEN OF THORNS. No one in the Seven Kingdoms has the cojones to snap his quill xD

Actually, her snapping his quill was basically her giving in to his proposal: either allow Loras to marry Cersei or Tywin will make him a Kingsguard instead, which will make him un-marriable (is that a word? lol) and the Tyrell name will have that much less of a future.  Is that how the rest of you took that?

Yeah, its pretty obvious that Tywin won the exchange with Olenna Tyrell.

She snaps the quill, saying that "Its rare to meet a man that lives up to his name", basically submitting to Tywin's wishes.

Then later, you have Tyrion telling Sansa(with Shae watching and listening) about their predicament. That hasn't changed- Sansa is now slated to marry Tyrion, and Cersei is now slated to marry Loras.

Tywin trounced everyone involved- Tyrion, Cersei, Loras, Sansa, and Lady Olenna.

Cersei is considerably older than Loras - and for men, child-producing capability doesn't really go away with age. Basically Olenna was choosing to yield now and hope that Cersei dies relatively soon.

I'm sorry, but I'm a bit tired of that reaction. This is not an action series. How much action was in the first season? For that matter, how much was in the 2nd? This show isn't about action, it's a machiavellian drama. This line of thought already ruined The Walking Dead, don't let it ruin Game of Thrones as well.

Aye, but Cersei's childbearing capability is in question.

I'm not adverse to action, and as a long-term fan of the books which is basically devoid of action for the vast majority of their lengths, I do agree, but for a TV show which relies a lot of people who haven't read the books aren't as enthralled by hours of talking about dresses and food and endless citing of house names, it's sort of understandable.

I don't agree entirely though, since, well, look at my profile pic. Plus, if you weren't sort of interested in all the character development and plot information in episode four, something's wrong. I think it's allowed a slow episode or two.
