So is Tumblr in an uproar over Theon getting his **** chopped off? Or can sexism only happen to womyn?

They're probably hung up on Ramsay having two ****es at his beck and call.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were upset about Jaime dragging Brienne behind him.

Through the books and series, I can
seriously start to say that the Lannisters are becoming my favourite
House. I don't give a **** if Tywin is the "villain" they are just
purely awesome.

"Sorry about the sapphires"

*cue Rains of Castamere*

I
hardly get chills from the series since I know everything there needs
to know, but that last bit sent 'dem chills with no mercy xD

Only now?:D Took you long enough to realize the Lannisters are the greatest of the Great Houses.
And yes, that instrumental was awesome.

SPOILERS!

What are they doing with Rob's plotline. There has been so much speculation over whether Jeyne Westerling is pregnant in the books or has been switched with a double, etc.
Now, not only does the show actually confirms she is carrying the heir to the North but chances are she'll die in two episodes.

This is why the books are so much better. Nevermind characterization, those are fine but TVWesteros just is nowhere as deep as BookWesteros.

SPOILERS as well

No sense judging the series based on what you think they're going to change. I would assume they'll find some way to split her up. However, like you said, it is strange that they have her carrying a baby. At this point in the books, he would have named John Snow as his heir.

SPOILERS

I don't mind changes that much so long as they do not defeat the purpose of the plotline; I like Gendry taking Edric's role, for instance. By making...Volantis girl (I honestly can't remember her name) pregnant; and likely kill her; they are either going on a tangent from the books if GRRM does something with Jeyne in "Winds of Winter" or if Jon Snow was, indeed, named heir aganst Catelyn's wishes or they have pretty much spoiled WoW by showing that GRRM has no such plans for either of them.
Because his grace has already revealed to the producers how he intends to finish the books.

Ontopic and pardon my ignorance, but does flayed skin grow back?
For instance, Theon had his fingers flayed but otherwise left intact by Ramsay so as to prolongue the torture but wouldn't the skin grow back in time?

It would grow back. But that much? It would be agony. So Theon will beg for Ramsay to cut it off and, since he's a good guy, he'll oblige.

The Tywin/Joffrey scene was cool.

I liked the part where Tywin signified that he wouldn't be talked down to by Joffrey. The time he ascended the steps, and made sure that it was he who was talking down to Joff.

Good stuff. Also, Jack Gleeson did a great job as Joff in that scene;I liked what he tried to do there, even though there was no way he was going to one-up his grandfather. Tywin dances circles around everybody in conversation.

Oddly enough the point about looking into that matter of dragons may have been the first time Joffery has been right about anything, although he doesn't even care enough to attend council meetings.

Yeah, I was saying that when I watched it. For once, Joffrey had a point- perhaps something SHOULD be done about the dragons. But Tywin puts his faith in those sending messages from abroad and ends up convincing Joff that he knows better.

Everyone takes a misstep at least once. :)

Personally I wouldn't bother either. Any man or woman with a brain knows Tywin is barking the orders....and to try and even argue with him is a waste of time.

Joffrey wasn't right about just that however. He once made a point in the first season about how a professional army would be better for the kingdom then the rabble of peasants called to fight every now and then.

Absoluetly boss, and demonstrates the lannister family dynamic perfectyl. Pretty much screaming, "I don't care that your king now. You are and will always be beneath me."

Next episode actually.

That felt like GRRM writing the Tormund from the books for once, giving the guy some sense of humor!

And finally, I have to say, I really love what they're doing with Jon and Ygritte. The storyline didn't do much for me in the books, and was pretty aimless last season when its time could have been better put to use on more scenes with Jon and Qhorin from the book. But whether it's just better writing or that Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie (well, mostly her) can really play off each other, they're really selling it on the screen.

I'd agree, I thought they both had some nice scenes this past episode. It helps that they were basically reciting dialogue more or less straight from the book.

Decent enough episode overall I thought. Setting things up for the end of the season.

I like to see Daenerys putting her foot down... and seeing her chilling on that chair with her dragons acting like a true queen.

Seriously, compare little submissive Daenerys at the beginning of Season 1 with how she's appearing in the show now.

Haha, im basically watching the show backwards becuase I missed ALL of season 1 and 2. Been watching episodes and I was shocked to see how submissive she was.

I jumped on to GOT  very  late in the game since the 3rd season is almost over i will have alot of time to catch up during the break.. maby even pick up the books by the time im done the 4th season will be on. I never read novels outside of school. Something has to be really good to make me pick up a novel.

A Song of Ice and Fire is one of the best series of novels available. Definitely pick A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, A Feast for Crows, and A Dance with Dragons up.

We still have The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring to go as well.

It was an okay episode. Nothing special really. I had hoped Martin would have written / directed the 9th episode of this season, but ah well.

Though I am getting tired of all this focus on Theon being tortured, especially in this episode since it had no point (if you don't consider Theon getting his **** chopped off as important). Not sure what they are planning exactly, but I think they could have easily shown through a couple of episodes Theon's plight, establishing a new character and then move on, but instead they are postponing it like it will be some big 'announcement' on who the torturer is (which will hardly be much of a shock to people).

^Perhaps Ramsey and his pet go on a hunt for two little lords from Winterfell? Would give a good reason for them to split up.

But aside from that I agree that the torture porn is getting a bit much.

Everything seems to be moving slowly in general as well.

I came across this very well thought-out speculation on why the HBO show replaces Robb Stark's wife, Jeyna Westerling in the books, with "Talisa", a character that is not in the books and created specifically for the show:

Potential spoiler video @ YouTube

This new plot twist (if the speculation turns out to be correct) would be a completely shock to people who have read the books and know the Red Wedding is coming.  The change would, IMO, make Talisa a more pivotal and interesting character than Jeyna Westerling.   It certainly makes sense for the show to change the character name to Talisa because her character would deviate so far from Jeyna.  The new name would make it easy for people to compare the characters (Jeyna vs Talisa) and avoid any confusion between the two characters later.

*SPOILERS*

I feel that its purpose is to ease that transition from Theon to Reek more efficiently. His character will go through major developments, but most of our information (as readers) comes from Theon's mind.

I think they should have just one more scene. One more scene which cuts to black just as it looks like Ramsey is going to kill him. Then, the audience thinks he's dead until... ta da! He's not.
