DAMN, ROOSE

****ES BE COLD AS ICE

Their house banner is a man skinned alive. I'd have been surprised if they hadn't been involved.

Wow, what an episode. My brother was out of his seat (he didn't know what was coming).

SPOILERS

I'm really surprised the Blackfish didn't make off with the queen and the Stark heir back to Riverrun. Then again, I guess G.R.R.M. basically made that plot line a dead end, so maybe it's not so unexpected.

Nah, Blackfish left to go find a tree to ****** on just before they closed the doors to the hall.

Even if you knew nothing of the books, just by the laws of fiction you know he's not dead.

Arya and Greywind could have been done better. And I wish there were more lords there.

A rather depressing way for the weekend to end I must admit.

SPOILERS below:

I too thought the Blackfish was going to escape with Robb's wife. They changed her character and gave her a more involved role in the series just to kill her like that? Damn.

I want Walder Frey to live just long enough to see House Frey reduced to bones and ashes. I have much more hate for the Freys than I do Roose Bolton for some reason. Maybe it's because you can't make Roose suffer. You could take everything he has ever worked for away from him and he wouldn't show any sign of emotion.

I'm disappointed Grey Wind didn't get his last stand, nor did his bannermen make some effort to defend themselves as they did in the book.

I hope Roslin lives though. She probably hates her dad for doing what he did and I'm sure she loves Edmure.

I take it you've all read the books.

Quick question. Was Stannis/Davos on good terms with the Stark family? ( E.G. Eddard/Robb/etc)

Sort of spoilers for one of the greatest moments in this series:

““I know about the promise,” ….“Maester Theomore, tell them! A thousand years before the Conquest, a promise was made, and oaths were sworn in the Wolf's Den before the old gods and the new. When we were sore beset and friendless, hounded from our homes and in peril of our lives, the wolves took us in and nourished us and protected us against our enemies. The city is built upon the land they gave us. In return we swore that we should always be their men. Stark men!””

Stannis held a grudge against Ned for a loooong time, but I think he respected him. And Ned was a supporter of his claim.

Rickon, and Bran are still alive. Not to mention Jon if he's legitimized.

It'll take a single Stark to rally the North once again. Why do you think the Freys went for Talisa and her baby first?

“Why should I avenge Eddard Stark? The man was nothing to me. Oh, Robert  loved him, to be sure. Loved him as a brother, how often did I hear that? I was his brother, not Ned Stark, but you would never have known by the way he treated me. I held Storm's End for him, watching good men starve while Mace Tyrell and Paxter Redwyne feasted within sight of my walls. Did Robert thank me? No. He thanked Stark, for lifting the siege when we were down to rats and radishes. I built a fleet at Robert’s command, took Dragonstone in his name. Did he ever take my hand and say, Well done, brother, whatever should I do without you? No, he blamed me for letting Willem Darry steal away Viserys and the babe, as if I could have stopped it. I sat on his council for fifteen years, helping Jon Arryn rule his realm while Robert drank and whored, but when Jon died, did my brother name me his Hand? No, he went galloping off to his dear friend Ned Stark, and offered him the honour. And small good it did either of them.”
Poor Stannis ;(

I don't think its a spoiler to say the following:

Stannis is on good terms with, well, really nobody.  Stannis is all about the law, what is right, etc. etc.  As example, remember what he did to Davos, who basically saved his life (the fingers, not the knighthood).  Stannis likely would have had Ned killed in certain circumstances, depending on how Ned handled presenting the throne to Stannis.

Remember that he considers the Starks usurpers to HIS throne.

Don't forget the girls! I'm sure Sansa has a very important role to play. I'm so excited for The Winds of Winter! I miss her.
