I'll be damned.  A fan of Sansa.

POSSIBLE SPOILER

I was so hoping she was going to make noise with Tyrion in the fourth and fifth book, but alas, they took her character another direction. :pinched:

I take it you've all read the books.

Quick question. Was Stannis/Davos on good terms with the Stark family? ( E.G. Eddard/Robb/etc)

I don't think its a spoiler to say the following:

Stannis is on good terms with, well, really nobody.  Stannis is all about the law, what is right, etc. etc.  As example, remember what he did to Davos, who basically saved his life (the fingers, not the knighthood).  Stannis likely would have had Ned killed in certain circumstances, depending on how Ned handled presenting the throne to Stannis.

Remember that he considers the Starks usurpers to HIS throne.

You referring to him getting put in jaill?

No, I'm referring to Stannis chopping the first knuckle off all the fingers of Davos's right hand.  For smuggling.

As to your request for elaboration for the other quote - IMO, its a BIG spoiler.

A rather depressing way for the weekend to end I must admit.

SPOILERS below:

I too thought the Blackfish was going to escape with Robb's wife. They changed her character and gave her a more involved role in the series just to kill her like that? Damn.

I want Walder Frey to live just long enough to see House Frey reduced to bones and ashes. I have much more hate for the Freys than I do Roose Bolton for some reason. Maybe it's because you can't make Roose suffer. You could take everything he has ever worked for away from him and he wouldn't show any sign of emotion.

I'm disappointed Grey Wind didn't get his last stand, nor did his bannermen make some effort to defend themselves as they did in the book.

Ya I was disapointed some stuff was changed, but overall i was impressed they still kept the scene to it's roots. The red wedding is one of the biggest changes and gut punches in the series and I felt they pulled it off great. I feel sorry for people who just decided to watch it with their friends though lol.

Sure they will. With what army?

Sort of spoilers for one of the greatest moments in this series:

““I know about the promise,” ….“Maester Theomore, tell them! A thousand years before the Conquest, a promise was made, and oaths were sworn in the Wolf's Den before the old gods and the new. When we were sore beset and friendless, hounded from our homes and in peril of our lives, the wolves took us in and nourished us and protected us against our enemies. The city is built upon the land they gave us. In return we swore that we should always be their men. Stark men!””

Elaborate

The quote is from, if I recall correctly, Lord Wyman Manderly's daughter Wylla in A Dance With Dragons. The Manderly's used to have lands on the Mander River in the Reach (the part of the Seven Kingdoms the Tyrell's rule) hundreds of years ago before being hounded out. The Starks took them in and granted the land that is now White Harbor, which is the North's main port and largest city.

Anything else is a spoiler, really.

You know, I think Arya is the only stark character that hasn't made any poor judgements/dumb decisions.... Well, she's a bit impulsive due to her hot headed nature. But still.

More spoilers present.

Almost every Northern house is loyal to the Starks still. They don't act due to hostages and the belief all the Starks are dead. There's still hope.

Rickon, and Bran are still alive. Not to mention Jon if he's legitimized.

It'll take a single Stark to rally the North once again. Why do you think the Freys went for Talisa and her baby first?

Ah, yes. At the current point in the books, "Alayne Stone" is at a better position than the other Starks to exact vengeance.

Now this is just depressing.

EDIT: Re "Alayne Stone" ... I fully expect this to be the way the North is reclaimed. Jon has too much honor to accept being legitimized, Arya is ... training, Bran is ... training, and Rickon is pretty much irrelevant to the story unless George follows through on his decision to write a bigger role for Osha in light of Natlia Tena's performances.

I think she made a dumb decision with Jaqen. Should've said Tywin, Joffrey and Cersei.

OH! Also, just to demonstrate how badass Lord Too-Fat-To-Sit-A-Horse is (minor spoilers follow) ...

This is what he says to face of Hosteen and Aenys Frey after they learn of Little Walder's death.

"Though mayhaps this was a blessing. Had he lived he would have grown up to be a Frey."

My mom just about cried.

SO WORTH WAITING YEARS FOR IT.

Had to talk to her and the stepdad for an hour about the events and the episode as a whole.

She was absolutely destroyed. Her two favorite characters were Robb and Catelyn.

Speaking about being destroyed, holy hell Talisa got annihilated.

Talisa's death was the most gruesome thing I've ever watched. The Freys don't have hearts. T.T It was so silly of Robb to take her with him.

Talisa was bad, but I have to agree that Grey Wind was the worst.

I had really hoped that the theory he got away from the Wedding was going to live on. :(
