I had really hoped that the theory he got away from the Wedding was going to live on. :(

I actually assumed that the info Tywin stated in the book about the "fate" of Robb and Grey Wind was accurate.

My thought was that while Tywin may think it's accurate, and indeed probably has no reason to think otherwise, it's possibly Grey Wolf could have gotten away and the Frey's made up the story to make people think they're both dead, as we never actually see their final fate "on screen", as it were.

I wonder if they'll do the same thing with Grey Wind as they did in the books.

Another way they've ruined Robb's character in the show. He actually leaves the equivalent of Talisa behind in Riverrun...

And leave yet another sub-plot opened to further complicate the plot? I don't people understand just how many characters there are, even the book-readers of this forum. Think of Feast for Crows and the first part of ADwD, there's a lot of politics going on and the last thing they need is yet ANOTHER character in the sea of names that is A Song of Ice and Fire.

Martin will probably kill her later on anyway, perhaps that's why she's there in the first place.

I do hope the Unsullied don't take his bringing her as the slight that pushed the Frey's into having them killed.

Then again, maybe the scene with Walder perving out over her was meant to emphasize that yes, they really are that despicable, and yes, this was their plan from the start.

I don't doubt there were reasons. They probably also did it to make RW more brutal (in which they succeeded, I think). But it shouldn't come at the expense of character.

But then it isn't surprising. They've done pretty much everything they can to make Robb despicable on the show...whereas he was one of the most tragic people in the books (especially after adding the fact he's a 14-year old kid...)

Is it bad that I didn't really care that Talisa died... or Robb for that matter?

Catelyn and Grey Wind though man...

Because that is exactly what Song of Ice and Fire is: A rather complex, nuanced political story along with of course the war aspect and the fantasy one but it's core is political.

The fact he brought Tallisa showcases just how much a suplified pile of dung the show is.

I was NOT impressed at all by the show's version of the Red Wedding. Where was all the chaotic fighting present in the book? Where was the tension as things went to hell and that? Where was the tightly packed hall?

It really was a very dull version of the Red Wedding which did not do it justice at all. Whereas in the book I could feel Catelyn's fear, anexiety, horror, terror and desperation and that meant I cared a bit for what happened despite my dislike of her and Robb as characters in the show I didn't give a damn at all.

You're not the only one.

I didn't care for either of them either really.. Talisa was a meh character. With Robb, It's mainly due to the fact that the Starks themselves are pretty much done. Most of his men died. AND THE WOLF DIED!!! Overall, their deaths were still quite brutal.

To me, the kicker with the Red Wedding wasn't so much the individuals that died but more of the point that its the death of the North's rebellion to avenge Ned's death. Its not just one guy being assassinated its everyone being slaughtered. Its basically the bad guys winning.

Although, the show did miss out on Cat's internal thoughts in the end. Which is probably the couple paragraphs that make her death so tough:

It hurts so much, she thought. Our children, Ned, all our sweet babes. Rickon, Bran, Arya, Sansa, Robb… Robb… please, Ned, please, make it stop, make it stop hurting… The white tears and the red ones ran together until her face was torn and tattered, the face that Ned had loved. Catelyn Stark raised her hands and watched the blood run down her long fingers, over her wrists, beneath the sleeves of her gown. Slow red worms crawled along her arms and under her clothes. It tickles. That made her laugh until she screamed. “Mad,” someone said, “she’s lost her wits,” and someone else said, “Make an end,” and a hand grabbed her scalp just as she’d done with Jinglebell, and she thought, No, don’t, don’t cut my hair, Ned loves my hair. Then the steel was at her throat, and its bite was red and cold.

So, here on Brazil we have a 1 day delay on the episode's releases. So let me get the checklist safe:

Catelyn: neck cut
Talisa: stabbed in the ventris
Greywind: died
Robb: Jaime sed his regards?

Just ask this questions, did it play Rains of Castamere when the sword fell in Robbs body? Thats how i imagined while reading the book.

Edit: Also, they did the "No, dont the hair. Ned loves the hair" line with Cat? I'm a shameless Lannister fanboy, but that though hitted me like a 1ton brick in the stomach.

Indeed. Too bad they didn't show the "ten fierce ravens raking her face." That's the first thing which comes to my mind when I think of RW.
