I wonder if the people demanding they stop the killing of main characters realize Joffrey is one of them.
So do you people want Joffrey dead or not? "chuckle"

I would agree if I didn't nearly throw my ADwD part 2 book into the Carribean. Seriously, I was in a boat ride and the ****ing scene spoilt it all.

Yeah, I do feel bad for the Unsullied in this respect. Joffrey's wedding won't be for another season and they'll have to wait at least two to find out the true extent of what the North remembers.
Gonna be a rought hiatus for them ... but on the other hand, HBO's marketing team can definitely run with it. This will be their equivalent of "Who Shot J.R.?"

:/
Like, if the woman has dragon eggs, and these are centuries old, no one has ever thought that they might need fire to hatch? You know, the fire breathing creatures might warm up their eggs? lol wat

As someone who has not read the series and has seen a scant few episodes of the show, that was kinda meh.

No one wants to be remembered as the first man ever to make poached dragon eggs.

Right, I have no idea what Dany's dragons have to do with this episode but you probrably missed the scene where she placed them in a brazier and it produced no effect.
The whole thing was rather magical, not biological, with Khal Drogo being a sacrifice and the fire being symbolic. Well, it's a really long story and goes into lore the show hasn't expanded much upon.

It's also somewhat implied the only reason that worked in the first place is because magic is coming back into the world, which may or may not be due to the return of the Others.

Why not? I bet they would taste delicious.
But yeah, overall I was not impressed. I suppose the bit with Hodor was amusing, but I have no reason to care about these people. :/

Seeing as you're seeing episodes out of order, haven't read the books, and have only seen a few of them, are you surprised?
Really.

The leadup to the Red Wedding was made even more tense if you read the books, you know what's going to happen but all of the characters are oblivious to what's going on.

Its so much better in the books because it seems like even Arya was killed, its way more brutal, the Rains of Castamere play throughout the killing, etc etc
Horrifically amazing.

Its story driven. You have to start from the beginning and work your way up to get it. Same with books- you don't jump in at book five, then read three, then read four, then one, then two.

If it requires significant investment to begin to care, it really isn't all that amazing.
And that is false, by the way, years ago I jumped into the Enchanted Forest Chronicles at, say, book 3, and that is why I went back to books 1 & 2. Likewise, one does not require reading of the Silmarillion to enjoy The Hobbit or the Lord of the Rings, or any other of the novels. One does not need knowledge of Gods and Generals to enjoy Killer Angels. And so on.
Heck, Mass Effect and Dragon Age can both be engaging without playing the previous entries.
I don't see what the problem is, there are at least, what, two surviving members of the House that was supposedly destroyed? Lol good job at living up to the blonde stereotype, whiney kid on a throne.
Edit: Eh, I suppose it doesn't matter so long as you enjoyed it. Feel free to disregard.
