Hmmm, I'd love to watch multiple episodes at once . . . .but I'm with Seagloom - it'd mean more waiting before the next one.

Also, re: actresses for Brienne - I fully expect her to be not so homely as she seems in the books. I'm thinking Xena-type look . . .with a bad haircut.

So's Ayra and Jon.  But hey, it's easier to make a pretty actress look homely than the other way around and I can imagine KS fighting a bear in lingerie...:D

How does a bear even get lingerie that fits?

I seem to recall the first two books describing Arya as horse faced which got changed for the show. I wouldn't be surprised to see anyone get prettied up.

So, casting speculations?

I am hearing James Purefoy (Mark Antony from HBO's Rome) for the Viper.  That would make me soooo happy.

Arianne Martell

Marc Antony as the Viper?! Oh. Hell. Yes.

I saw an interesting suggestion for Melisandre- South African actress Musetta Vander.  I have no idea if she can act, but she has a great, exotic look.  I could definitely picture M. looking like that.

Katee Sackhoff would make an excellent Brienne...

While that would be a Brienne I'd love to watch, she would either need to wear prosthetic makeup or they need to cast someone else.

Brienne is supposed to be very homely, with a face that calls to mind a horse.

Unfortunately, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Griffin are too old to play Brienne of Tarth.

Technically the only ones to call Arya horse face were Jayne Pool and Sansa, and that is her perception of herself.  It has already been stated a few times that she is better looking than that, especially when Ned says she looks like Lyanna.

Bwaaah- I've actually only finished reading Game of Thrones thus far and only just got the rest of the books and started Clash of Kings the other day now that my semester is over and I've got some time to read.

But with regard to casting for season 2, I think Kevin McKidd was mentioned already but he might make a good Stannis. As for Melisandre, I'm picturing her as sort of like Christina Hendricks with the voice of Claudia Black... yeah that'll never happen

But you could always take more former HBO actors too (like Littlefinger= Carcetti from The Wire) and bring in people like Ian McShane (Deadwood), Ciaran Hinds or James Purefoy (Rome). You figure they'll bring in at least one sort of recognizable "name" actor considering how season one will end up...

I do think they will bring in a big name. Ciaran Hinds for Stannis? Or for Davos? Oooh, Davos! I like that idea.

A lot of people bring up Christina Hendricks for Melisandre, but since she's American and still filming Mad Men, I doubt that will happen. I think it's just men's fantasies of her.

I rather not see too well known an actress attached to the role. I would hate Christina Hendricks as Melisandre. She has the shapely figure, but her features are not a great fit. I have an especially hard time imagining Melisandre with a prominent cleft chin. Musetta Vander looks much better for it. I too have no clue what her acting is like, however. I hope she did not have a prominent role in "Wild Wild West"; because everything I remember from that movie makes me retch--acting included.

According to IMDB, this was her big appearance in Wild Wild West:

Munitia: [aiming a shot at West's & Gordon's train] I have them square in my sights, Sire!
Dr. Arliss Loveless: [staring at her buttocks] As do I, Munitia! As do I!

lol

Okay, so not much of a role worth remembering then. At least she has the looks. :pinched:

For those who had purchased some items - I remember people did, but not who - I saw an announcement on FB that Khaleesi t-shirts are now available.

This page was the link: http://store.hbo.com...64&pa=SMM-11264

Quite a few things on there . . . might get me a letter opener . . .

Preview of tonight's episode, "The Wolf and the Lion."  Word is, this will be King's Landing and the Vale- no scenes at the Wall or with Daenerys.  Definitely more tourney, by the looks of things.

Ser Barristan is such a badass.

I can't wait to see what the Vale and the Eyrie look like.

Well, judging from the image here, just like its throne room, the whole building went from angular to round... and looks decidedly Arabic, which is just wrong, so I've steeled myself for disappointment.

Just started watching it, and I have mixed views on it. But I plan to watch it some more, see if I might like it or not. But one thing I found funny was just how many of the people are just dicks, and like...everyone just stares or ignores it. I mean this isn't High School Gym class. Most of you have swords, yah know you could...I'll suggest something radical here but umm yes, Kill them.

One thing that people don't have a problem doing in these books is killing other people . . . .death happens. Give it time . . . .

You should read the books. They're tons better than the Star Wars EU. Well, technically, a lot of things are better than the Star Wars EU.

Indeed. Excellent episode. Very true to the book (one big exception, one minor exception, some minor changes) but excellently done.

Things is heating up in Westeros, people . . . .

I loved the panoramic shots at the Eyrie and sky cells. I was afraid it would look cheesy and fake, but it worked. It was a much better episode than the last.

They were atmospheric, though not as I pictured- had to be much snowier and even higher up.  But I was bound to miss Mya Stone.

According to Twitter, a lot of people were surprised about Renly and Loras.

The sex scenes are all about backstory.  There's a dirty joke in there somewhere.

Favorite part- Arya chasing the cat.  Everything with Arya is magic.

Worst part- the Mountain's horse :crying:
