Tywin Lannister is dead for being an abusive, cruel son of a *****, both in the big and small scale. And treating the worst the person who was more dangerous out of spite. He got exactly what he deserved.
But did the hundreds and thousands of common folk?
Tywin was no doubt a very harsh father who used less than favourable means to teach Tyrion and you may feel his death was an appropriate punishment for this; however he was also one of the greatest rulers in the history of Westeros who had been effectively running the 7 kingdoms for the past 20 years and was no doubt the best chance for the common people to be kept safe and secure. Now that Tyrion has murdered his father Westeros has descended into chaos with an incompetent ruler in charge who cares little for the people and a plague of would-be-rulers all monopolizing on this chaos fighting to further their own power.
All the while the common folk suffer and Tyrion sobs in another country strangling prostitutes.
Tywin's treatment of Tyrion was unfair, it was cruel and it was stupid, but Tyrion's actions against his father are now so much worse. Because of his own self-absorbed foolishness the 7 kingdoms have fallen into chaos and thousands of innocents are suffering unnecessarily. If there's any monster out of these two; it is Tyrion.

We´ll laugh last and best. While your time has already passed.
Because the greatest player in the Lannister house is dead I think it is only inevitable that they'll crumble but you'd have to pretty deluded to think that means the Starks will win in the end.
The message of this series isn't the "good guys win in the end", nor is it "the bad guys always win" rather it is "nobody wins". I'm pretty confident that by the end of this series every major character will be either dead or of little importance.
