Do you think they'll wait till episode 9 to kill off tywin? In the books he was dead shortly after Rob Stark, wasn't he?. That'd be some epic stalling or retconning.

That seems the most likely scenario in this case, because presumably:

The Purple Wedding will occur episode 3-4, with the Oberyn/Mountain fight in Episode 6 or 7, so Tywin's death in episode 9 seems to be the logical step if the timings of the other events are right.

Yeah, I think they'll drag out the Tyrion prison saga. I think they'll kill off Shae too. Just something to really get Tyrion wrathful and because the Shae in the show is completely different than Shae in the books.

I'm curious as to when they'll due the Stoneheart reveal though. Will they leave it till the final episode or pull the trigger earlier?

 

As to other matters, Oberyn is reminding me a lot of Renly in the looks department. I'll get past it once the show resumes but it's a bit distracting, lol.

Stoneheart will probably be brought in during the last episode, unless perhaps they show a brief glimpse at the end of one episode in the middle.

 

Oberyn looks different to how I imagined him in the books, perhaps it's just the shorter hair and the beard, I don't know.

Honestly, later on in the books I started only getting a vague notion of what each character looked like because he starts throwing so many at you by that that time.

Shae is gonna die. No if, ands, or buts about it.However, I doubt Tyrion will be the one to do the deed. He's too "viewer-friendly" in the show to do the deed though. Not sure who else would, but I'll bet Tywin or Cersei will 'pull the trigger' or be the one that gives the order. In the books, it went Joff-Tywin-Shae, and I wouldn't be surprised if the order gets varied up. Tywin finds about about Shae, Tywin has her killed or something, Tyrion gets pissed off at Tywin, more so than usual, and crossbow time! Sound plausible?

Dear God, I hope this won't happen. I'm a bit tired by people overly glorifying Tyrion, and while indeed he is awesome, certain upcoming events will have an impact on him and his character, and if the show throws that into the water I will be disappointed.

Well In the books Tywin like Stannis is never a POV characters, all of his actions come through a secondary perspective.

 

We never glean what he is thinking on anything, we only learn of his actions, his thought process of through what he tries to achieve and accomplish.

 

So yeah i'd agrue given we literally never see what he is thinking of a particular course of action or subject, the Show fleshes him out more.

I've been watching Season 3 recently on DVD (always a season behind since I don't have Sky Atlantic but I've read the books so not worried about spoilers) and just watched episode seven, which might have an answer for this.

Tyrion tries to gift Shae with a golden necklace of several chains, but she's still pissed about the whole Tyrion/Sansa wedding and storms out of the room. Possibly this will stand in for the Hand's chain?

I think I might prefer this new Daario much more than the previous one.

I didn't care for the first Daario (never liked the character either, though), so I guess the new one will be fine with me. Still, replacing a clean-shaven, long-haired guy with a distinctive face with a bearded guy with shorter hair (of a darker colour) between seasons feels weird and won't make it easier for the, urm, more casual viewers.
