Ok many things I didn't expect happened in this episode and those I expected, I didn't see...Still liking the show however it ill be a long wait until april 2015.
At least I'll have DAI to pass the time.

DA:I cancelled until 2016 due to GRR Martin taking forever to write.

Semi-confirmed rumor.

First and foremost, let us all take a moment to remember the greatest man ever born in Westeros. Lord Tywin Lannister, the King Who Was Never Crowned.

357lkbo.gif

Took the words right out of my mouth. Tyrion shall pay, the West will never forget.

Now that that's out of the way, the episode was terribly disappointing.

No Val, no baby, Mance didn't fight, Gregor didn't seem to be in pain; Cersei and Jaime, for some reason, seem to have gotten each other's scripts for mistake; Jojen is dead, thanks for letting us know that he won't be important in the books; no falling out between the Lannisters brothers, no Tysha and, worst of all, no LADY STONEHEART?

Also, the scene with Sandor was a mood whiplash. His relationship with Arya was never fatherly but, one moment they're tugging at the heart strings, in the other Arya is abandoning him to slowly rot away in a mountain side somewhere.

All in all, the only scenes that didn't disappoint where those in Meeren.

That did catch me a bit as strange. Although they weren't the best of friends, I did get the impression that the show made the Arya-Hound relationship to be more amicable in the books. Hell, he identifies himself as her protector. This makes the whole "Arya leaving the Hound to bleed out" plot point a bit strange in my eyes.

Edit: Also, Jaydee, awesome avatar. Dream is a bamf.

No more Charles Dance, see no reason to watch the show anymore really.

Few bits felt too rushed and modest. Namely  Charge of Stannis and Tyrion Vs Shae&Tywin. Both of these  could have used a lot more screen time&bloat.  Both scenes  felt like things happen because they absolutely must, not because there is an ample amount of time and breathing space. Dany could have just as well finished her season 2 weeks back. Her 5 mins of Danying  were sorely missed by Tyrion&Shae&Tywin.

Arya&Hound was always a jagged coin with two sides. Conflicted ending and Ary's dance between mercy and cruelty suited both characters well.Overall their relationship was a beautiful, ugly, cruel  life tasting  pile o dung! The fight between Brienne and Hound was more epic than Blackwater and last week's wall combined. I'll greatly miss he Hound. Character and actor both:/

Overall, HBO has done awesome job. I'm incredibly happy this is the biggest thing on TV just now.

" Where do whores go " was only bit from books I truly missed.

The presence of Tywin Lannister on this show will be missed. He's a brilliant mind who set his family up for success, only to have it all tumble down because his children had the hots for each other, or were just really short and hated on by the entire realm. With Tyrion, Tywin and Varys gone not to mention others who left/died in prior episodes, King's Landing is no longer the exciting place it used to be.

^Yeah, this is about the point in the books as well where King's Landing becomes a much less interesting setting.

What was the quote?

Tywin "Wherever whores go." In regards to the revelation of Tysha to Tyrion before he shoots him in the bowels which resulted in his bowels loosening.

I think we all wanted to know where whores go. It's one of life's great questions.

Don't even lump Tywin to those two characters.

Yeah, I agree that Tywin is higher and I do think he was a great antagonist and character, but my grudge against him was too great.

There's fun to be had in watching Cersei completely self-destruct and go bats.

Pretty much, I guess there is still some aspects in the show to make it worth it, unless HBO steps it up, season 5 will just be a typical Game of thrones season imo .

They'll have to find a way to make up for the lack of Cersei's internal monologues in the show. The ones where she goes thinking "I'm so smart, what I did was so smart, Tywin would be proud" after doing something stupid.

Also the lack of Lightbringer doing the whole magic sword thing in any season has been an annoyance. Stannis puts on a big display with it at the wall to impress the wildlings a bit later. I would love to see that in the show but I'm guessing I won't.
