But the lack of Stannis in all of these is appalling so I'll compensate.

Changes from the books:
Obara Sand will use a spear (just like her father Oberyn,) and she will have a fight scene with Jamie Lannister.
Nymeria (Nym) Sand will use a whip (instead of knifes and daggers as in the books) as her primary weapon.
Tyrene Sand will dual-wield daggers in addition to being a poison expert. She is not exactly a fighter in the books.
Apparently the rest of the (adult) Sand Snakes will be able to fight, and they use different weapons. Would be interested to see the vengeful sisters have an all-out fight scene with the Lannisters in King's Landing (even though it's not in the book.)
Nymeria Sand is played by an East Asian actress, which implies that Volantis is East Asian. Nymeria's mother is from Volantis. (In the books, Volantis is more like Indian/South Asian rather than East Asian.) I wonder if that mean Arianne Martell, whose mother is also Volantis, will also be played by East Asian or half-Asian.
Thanks for the post KT . I have to say i am disappointed with Doran Martell and Obera Sand not looking like i think they should .
Out of curiosity, where was it confirmed that Obara will be fighting Jaime Lannister?
A++++ cast choice for Obara. I love Keisha.

Do you read the books ? I don`t mean that Keisha is a bad actor just she doesn`t fit the way they describe Obara .

As if the show follows 100% of the books....

Huh, interesting.
Should see plenty of Doran and that gouty leg, gah! ![]()
Lol did they really not cast Arianne, Darkstar, etc but cast Trystane? What on earth are the Sand Snakes going to do all season? We just going to pretend Arianne doesn't exist now? Lol. Looking forward to seeing how HBO handles a neutered Dornish plot. And if they cut out a certain Doran speech, I will crack the shits.

To be fair, Darkstar doesn't really do anything that somone else couldn't do (aside from being of the night). If they don't cast Arianne though, that would be stupid. She's a pretty important piece in Doran's plans. Though after that last episode I'm not sure if HBO would care.
They've already made some odd changes when it comes to Dorne. Instead of going to visit Casterly Rock with their mother, Oberyn and Elia visit with their father. Their father who was changed to the Prince of Dorne whereas he the line of succession was passed down through Oberyn's mother. Their father was the consort, their mother was the Princess of Dorne. It's a seemingly little detail but just baffling as to why they'd change it. Dorne's succession laws give it colour and changing that detail kind of detracts from their story as a whole.
Plus, Oberyn's mum was travelling to Casterly Rock to arrange a betrothal between Elia and Jaime. A feat she would had better success with had Joanna still been alive but unfortunately for them Joanna had died during their journey.
These are little details that wouldn't take too long to impart upon the audience and would give some more flavour to Dorne and Westeros as a whole. Their omission and outright changes in certain circumstances are a bit troubling.
