And how did they know the night's watch were at Hardhome? Plus they did attack the Night's Watch at the end of season 2. The aftermath of the battle is the first thing we see in season 3.

they liukely didn't know the watch was there, but were instead drawn by the thousands of wildlings that I'm sure even the inhabitants of the Arbor can smell

I dunno, they're crazy Necromancer Ice people. Nothing seems too far out the wheelhouse at this point.

Oh yeah.

They have their own motivation for what they are doing. Nothing crazy abut it. Just harsh.

Two thoughts.

- Stannis is no longer Henpecked Hou. Ho hum.

- As actresses hold more sway in the show, they can afford to refuse to show their ******. eg, Daenerys. Did you see her covering her ****** with the bed linen in episode 6? She did that because she can. She couldn't in season 1. So the show makers resort to younger, less important characters and tell the actresses "show yer ******". And the girls don't have enough influence in the show to refuse so they have to go with it.

The children Wrights were a nice touch, most 'zombie hordes' in film tend to forget that kids are counted among their number. It was a chilling moment when that Wildling elder, who was slaughtering Wrights left and right, froze when she saw them. Also hats off to that Giant wrecking havoc on the skeletons that tried to get near him, I was glad he survived and hope that he isn't immediately killed upon arriving at the wall; but then again this is Got we are talking about here.

As horrific as the White Walkers are, I almost hope that they push down into Westeros proper; everyone is plotting and scheming and only out for their own agendas. While it wouldn't cure the animosity between the houses, there is nothing quite like the threat of impending extinction to force Stannis and the Boltons, the Laniasters and the Tyrels, Dorne and the Laniasters to work together.

The key to world peace isn't through understanding and loving feelings, it's having an invading outsider sweeping in to kill everyone regardless of race or creed. :P

Ramsey Snow tortures a whitewalker. Confirmed 2016.

Sh-t just got real.

That was one of the best & most intense episodes of the series, and the White Walkers / Wights are appropriately terrifying. I think they just put all other world-destroying ancient evil monsters in film to shame. It was interesting to see Jon defeat a White Walker with Valyrian steel as well, confirming that it is dragonsteel.

Nothing like a zombie apacolypse to make all the scheming and squabbling over who gets to sit on the Iron Throne seem rather petty, huh?

Zombies, who can move quickly, and wield weapons, and who can't die to blunt force trauma or evisceration, and who don't need to bite you or infect you to add to their numbers, just kill everyone around indiscriminately and wait for their leader to raise them all back from the dead.

There's Zombies, and then there's Magic Zombies, and then there's "That's just not fair" BS Zombies, and then there are the goddamn white walkers.

Westeros is fucked.

Man this episode was so well done. When a bunch of them dropped from the cliffs and then came alive. It was so awesome.

lol G.R.R.MARTIN is a true masochist and his world is the most screwed up fictional world in the history of Fantasy novels!

Probably in the end of book series Ancient Aliens will come and nuke all these lands for good.

Not to mention the only weapons that do seem to work are either 1) made out of a pretty brittle substance (obsidian) or 2) quasi-magical

Prediction for the next two episodes. Stannis gets stabbed to death in the next one by Ramsey and his goons. Since Mel is with Stannis now, and not with Jon as in the books, she will resurrect him. Given that Thoros told her this could be done in season 3. Now given some foreshadowing in the earlier episodes, I am betting Selyse sacrifices Shireen when they raise Stannis.

Small addition. Stannis character gets merged with Lady Stoneheart's character.

I think he joked that the final book will be an 800 page description of snow blowing across a graveyard.

At least, I think he was joking...

I think he was referring get to valyrian steel.

Obsidian is plentiful, but isn't a very reliable weapon. Breaks easily

I got a sense that Sansa will take on the role of Lady Stoneheart.

She's...not in a good place. Literally and figuratively. Her talk with Reek reinforced that, how she wished she could do everything Ramsay did to him all over again

Aren't Brienne and Tommen the only people with Valyrian Steel swords now?

Or at least we know about.

And I wouldn't trust Tommen to replace the batteries in my TV remote, let alone take out a White Walker.

Nobody arround to raise Sansa, though + she just found out her brothers are alive. So she just got a boost there.

According to the wiki Lightbringer isn't forged of Valyrian Steel.

It's just a glowing sword...because Melisandre didn't properly level her enchantment skill.

I don't recall stannis having one, or the baratheons besides techncially Oathkeeper and Widows-Wail. There's a lot of houses who have them, or had them, but only 1 per house. Half the swords are lost to history, if the wiki is any indicator. And the noble houses treasure the damn things more then gold or life itself. So depending on how selfish the lords of westeros are, they could in theory horde their precious heirlooms all the way till the whitewalkers are on their doorsteps.

Is it weird that I hope the white walkers will conquer Westeros in the end?

If only for that "I told you so!".
