That has to go down as one of the greatest battle scenes ever put to film.
I wouldn't say that. I'd say it's a good indicator of what the The Others are capable of. Granted, for me, they lost most of the shock value when they finally appeared (or at least, when the wights did). I don't blame them for it. It's how I am. I'm more afraid of the terror unseen. Once I see an enemy and what they are, I can focus on them easier. I'm more afraid of the lovecraftian element, and they built that up quite well.
I'm more interested in the masterful set-up to their arrival, the build-up and tension to it. I think the Walkers on the cliffs was also pretty cool, the silent demons overwatching hell. The zombies themselves just aren't interesting to me.
