That has to go down as one of the greatest battle scenes ever put to film.

I wouldn't say that. I'd say it's a good indicator of what the The Others are capable of. Granted, for me, they lost most of the shock value when they finally appeared (or at least, when the wights did). I don't blame them for it. It's how I am. I'm more afraid of the terror unseen. Once I see an enemy and what they are, I can focus on them easier. I'm more afraid of the lovecraftian element, and they built that up quite well.

I'm more interested in the masterful set-up to their arrival, the build-up and tension to it. I think the Walkers on the cliffs was also pretty cool, the silent demons overwatching hell. The zombies themselves just aren't interesting to me.

Just seen episode 8

Well that was awesome.

Also while Sam's talk to Olly about doing what you think is right  regardless of what others think, was quite nice I get the feeling it didn't get the reaction Sam intended.

I get the feeling Olly's sharpening his dagger...

Also in the preview for episode 9 we see Aliser Thorne seemingly deciding whether to let Jon and the free folk through the wall or not.

the rest of the episode was a bit skimpy, especially lulzworthy was Dany's "break the wheel: thing,

Haha. That line sounded a lot better in the season preview trailers, you know before the season started and before it became apparent that at least right now she is a pretty incompetent ruler.

Cunning?

He's alright, but in Martin's very own words, he's "dumb as a stump".

They could end up combining euron and victarion into a single ironborn exile who becomes king, slaughterrs along the coast, and goes off to take dany's dragons.

As to who I want to be cast as him (if the character is who I think he is):

Spoiler

Mads Mikkelsen.

Mads Mikkelsen all the way.

Gemma Whelan's (Asha Greyjoy) IMDb page used to show that she was appearing in 5.8, 5.9, and 5.10, but now only 5.9, which is The Dance of Dragons. Kinda disappointed.

Heeey guys! I'm so happy to share this with you!

On sunday's episode there was a bulgarian actor in the cast - Zachary Bakarov, he played the Thenn leader - Loboda. I think he did very well, considering most bulgarians have accent when speaking in english. I'm proud our guy was part of the show :)

As a book reader I though Hardhome was the best episode of the series so far. Though that's probably a result of seeing things that haven't been shown in the books.

The White Walkers are so intriguing I cannot wait to find out their motives and get some back story on the Night's King.

The Tyrion and Dany stuff was also pretty awesome.

Poor Sir Friendzone cannot catch a break... :(

Yeah, I thought that was one of the best show episodes ever. Lots of great dialogue.

Book reader reference in show.

Spoiler

Would have liked to see the wildlings use a bit of fire at the battle though. Fascinating to see Tyrion meet Daenerys and a better look at the white walkers, you wonder if the books will take similar directions.

It probably wasn't really "acting" for him, stuff like this is probably a regular occurrence in Bulgaria.

Aye, seeing Alliser op Episode 9 of last season was cool as ****, his speech and even how he fought, I hope they don't throw him under the bus and have Jon behead him like Slynt.

Honestly if Olly betrays him I wouldn't give 2 shits, if Jon cuts his head off I wouldn't give 2 shits.

Ruthless sounds like Victarion.

Cunning, mad, and being all around the world is Euron.

Victarion hasn't been many other places excluding Westeros. Also GRRM has confirmed he's a bloody idiot and the book shows that, he thinks Moqorro's visions are amazing, and they really aren't. And he also thinks that the healing by fire is cool too, but most everyone knows that fire cleanses.

Because he was an orphan or because he killed Ygritte?

Orphans are always a source of trouble in both fiction and IRL, killing Ygritte was just proof of that.

I find it very difficult to be angry at Olly for putting an arrow through Ygritte's heart, seeing as Ygritte herself put an arrow through his dad's neck.

Extra Number 79 was probably an ******* dad anyway. Stannis is best dad in Westeros.

I'm not a huge fan of Ygritte but she was semi-important while he and his family were just there for the point of being wilding fodder.

Isn't Westeros basically England though?

The North being North English, the Wildlings being Scottish, and Southrons being Southern English. While the east is, I dunno, other places
