All in all, I felt that there was a lot of tension and the sense of events rushing ahead of the participants ability to control it. The roller coaster has started and there is nothing anyone can do to stop it. It was wonderful!

Maybe the TV show will use mini Dire-Wolves?Addai67 wrote...

The Northern Inuit dogs are not going to cut it for full-grown direwolves.

Tyrion, Bronn ('Oh... Well you wouldn't know him...'), Shagga, Syrio, Ser Barristan... All good stuff.
That was priceless!

Seems like Brian Blessed should be in there somewhere. lol The actor for the Greatjon did a pretty good job I guess, especially in the scene with Catelyn, talking about Tywin's bunghole. Hee. Oh, and I was complaining about direwolves so props for Ghost and Grey Wind!WeRtheBrox wrote...

The Greatjon was a little disappointing, and totally outshone by the awesome that is Ser Barristan Selmy.
Was anyone else picturing Brian Blessed in that role?
No sex scenes- everyone got down to business.
Poor Sansa. This is when you start to see that she's in way over her practically empty little head.
Osha and Hodor- awesome. lol I love how they've done the heart trees, and how they tie the mythology in to the political events. "How can they see if they have no eyes."
Indeed, not just a Ghost sighting, but a Grey Wind sighting as well!!!!!!
Yes, I was commenting on the faces in the trees myself last night - I always pictured them simply as some slashes/cuts in the trunk, but the way they've done them - making actual faces - is pretty amazing.
I personally could have done without full frontal Hodor, but it was true to the book.

I had to wonder if they gave him some form of prosthetic or if that requirement was actually part of the casting. He's a big boy!TJPags wrote...

Good lord, I can just see the casting call for that one . . . ."Good, okay, now, drop your pants"

They are old enough at this point to be much larger than ordinary wolves. In the book the scene where Grey Wind attacks Greatjon had a lot more ferocity.
Their mother certainly looked large enough to be a dire wolf in the scene when they found the pups.

Liked the episode. A bit all over the place but got a lot of things in. Loved seeing Robb rising in all levels of badass. Dude was convincing, to say the least.
Disappointed that they didn't show the scene between him and Bran before he heads off. One of my favourites in the book and I think we could've got it instead of seeing Hordor's schlong. It really helped show how vulnerable he really was. Though it's a lot more paced out in the books while the change in the series really seems to take the stage in one episode in the series so I can understand it.
And Syrio!

As a matter of fact, all the supernatural elements in this show have been incredibly well done. They just HAPPEN. No fanfare. And nobody BELIEVES in them. That's possibly what is most interesting about his fantasy world: things like dragons are known to have existed, and yet nobody believes in White Walkers.

knowing that your ass, etc has just been on TV , is a little weird lmao"

Yeah, god forbid for us to be able to explore sceneries and locations set in world we so love and enjoy!
Despite it's void-of-potential genre, I was mildly interested of the RTS til I saw the early screenshots. Looks terribly bland and uncreative:l Reminded me of some late 90's C&C screenies. But then, early screenshots are just that.

Coolest Pokemon ever. I wonder what he will be like after evolving?
