I love Nina Dobrev and her doppelgangers. I was hoping that she would show up in Orphan Black.

I was mulling about reading the asoiaf books for years but season five made me think I'm going to read the books only after the series are finished. Reading Harry Potter kinda ruined the movies for me.

The last scene in the episode. You could feel all the sweat and tears of everyone doing the filming... *slow clap*

I'm fairly sure she's going to be coming back to westeros, with the skills of the faceless men and a long, long hit list. She'll probably be shaking up the polotics in westeros in her own special way. Mostly in the form of dead powerful people.

I really don't think she's got it in her to be a true servant of the many faced god because that would require her to abandon her loves, attachments and, most importantly of all, her revenge. And shes got too much fire in her to just let that go.

Or at least that's my wild guess anyway.

I have a feeling she's going to be the one to take out Walder Frey.

I don't think its impossible to forge new Valyrian steel. I believe the key to it is dragon fire, which would allow Daenerys to be the one to have it crafted. Problem is, they(Dany's company) haven't even entertained the idea of trying it. There's probably more to it(I imagine there has to be) but hey, give it a shot.

As for obsidian(dragonglass) its Stannis who can take care of supplying that. He's got LOADS of it on Dragonstone.

Well, I mean... he's probably got A boatload of it. One boat. Which seems like a lot, until you have to make weapons for tens of thousands of soldiers in a (very) short amount of time.

I would highly suggest this. Don't read the book until the show has moved past it. You'll gain a deeper appreciation for the world without feeling betrayed somehow.

I read the first three books and stopped when it looked like GRRM was stretching the series a la Wheel of Time. That's paid off as the tv show has a definite ending and a definite schedule and we are long past the point in the books where I stopped reading. So everything is new and fresh.

Were it me, I would wait until after the show ends before reading the books. Just be aware that the book series may not have a satisfactory ending as GRRM is easily diverted, has a bad heart, and doesn't need the money anymore.

If GRRM were to die, I personally would hope that they would pull in Joe Abercrombie to finish the series. The Blade Itself series is a masterpiece of weaving a complex story that is still able to wrap things up in a pretty bow by the end while, at the same time, blowing the reader's mind.

Two thoughts.

- Stannis is no longer Henpecked Hou. Ho hum.

- As actresses hold more sway in the show, they can afford to refuse to show their ******. eg, Daenerys. Did you see her covering her ****** with the bed linen in episode 6? She did that because she can. She couldn't in season 1. So the show makers resort to younger, less important characters and tell the actresses "show yer ******". And the girls don't have enough influence in the show to refuse so they have to go with it.

Well, Lena Headley never showed her breasts in the show either. They used a boob double for the first episode. She admitted that on Craig Ferguson's Late Late Show about three years back.

Lena Headey had also been in numerous movie and TV roles prior to GoT.

Emilia Clarke, on the other hand, had not. And she did not have a boob (or butt) double.

I figure it's more up to the actress whether or not they appear naked.

Has Sophie Turner been topless at all? I can't remember if she was, and I don't think she had a career prior to the show.

On a side note, I seem to recall Emilia Clarke being more of a theater actor prior to the show.

Well, I think the concept is that Sophie Turner was a young, adolescent, while Dany was portrayed as a young woman. We saw Dany getting aggressively handled during her wedding night against her will in the first season and people said little, we see the same thing happen with Sansa's character (who is now older than when Dany married Drago) and nownthere are screams against rape and poor treatment of women in the show.

I don't know... I have no problem with any of the mature content in GoT - nudity, violence, sexuality or profanity - because these aspects of human nature occur every day in the real world. To have a story that deals with war, death and power and not acknowledge that these elements exist is shielding oneself from the reality of how the world really works.

But that's wildly off topic.

Naaah I think Tatiana Maslany is doing great job in Orphan Black. Nina is a little bit sweet for that role, while Tatiana is the more tomboy-ish type to play Sarah. I still sometimes can't get my mind around how she plays Alison - totally different. The show is really cool for me, because I can't even make assumptions as to what is going to happen next, so I'm totally in the dark and anxiously waiting :)

I also agree on reading the books after the show. I already read lots of spoilers for the books, but I still have to desire to just sit and read. I would be able to make sense into the lore. In the series doesn't go that deep when it comes to Targaryen history or Jon Snow speculation theory. You can get all that from the books, as far as I know. Of course, this can happen if you're a careful reader, otherwise you might miss stuff.
And yeah the last scene... spectacular, can't wait to see what's next :)

Daenerys and Jon Snow are defeating the white walkers together aren't they. And the dragons get killed in the process. That's how it's going to end.

I dislike Jon Snow. He went on his little vacation to the wilds, got a girlfriend, lied to her saying she mattered and that they'd be together. He got her killed. Ohhh, we get a dramatic scene! Jon Snow is sad! Aww. He's sad. Awww. I hope he gets disemboweled or something soon.

Also ser Jorah is becoming pathetic. I think the actor should tell the writers to make him move on already. Besides he's too old for Daenerys. Come on Jorah don't be such a sad creepy weirdo.

OT but Tatiana Maslany is more than an actress, she's a freaking chameleon to play as many roles as she does on one show.

That actually sounds exactly like a James Bond film.

Jorah the Explorer is... he's lost everything. His family, his name, his title. He had a shot to get it all back and he threw it away to save Dany. Because he believed in her. Because he loved her.

He's really got nothing left in life besides Dany... even if Dany is partially to blame for that. So if he's living on borrowed time, might as well go out swinging for the fences, I guess.

Jon is also the only one with perspective 'bout the White Walkers.

Everyone else is either dealing with how whipped Stannis is, how unsuited Dany is to being queen, or ****** around with High Sparrow because Tommen is so P-whipped he has no clue what to do.

Dragon fire probably kills White Walkers as well, considering we know fire kills Wights and that obsidian and Valyrian steel were referred to as dragonglass and dragonsteel in the old legends about the White Walkers.

One fan theory is that dragon fire might be the secret of forging Valyrian steel.

Now what if Bran is then able to command a dragon from Dany and then use it to create Valyrian steel weapons?

Because I doubt those dragons will listen otherwise.

If Dany manages to control them she can make it happen. Thing is, Valyrian steel production isn't even on her mind.
