But I wouldn't mention that to too many folks. I've seen a lot of people in other places lately basically say, "*expletive* the book readers". Which is hilarious to me since without those of us who read ASOIAF back in the day there wouldn't be a GoT on HBO.

I'm a book reader myself but sometimes I can understand that sentiment. Between snobby elitists, book readers who drop major spoilers intentionally or unintentionally, and purists who complain about every little change, I'm not surprised some of the people who've only seen the show can't stand the book series' fans.

People who just watch the show are behind on everything, naturally. No fault of theirs. To them R+L=J is a huge bombshell theory but to us book readers its an old theory that we talked about before Game of Thrones was even thought about for HBO. R+L=J is an A Song of Ice and Fire theory, not a Game of Thrones theory.

With you on the elitism and stuff. But what I'm referring to is unwarranted hate rather than actually being bothered by something someone did. Its like people are actively trying to separate book readers and show watchers into two distinct groups with zero overlap because the moment something happens in the show thats different than the novels you now have people calling out book readers like they've all been elitist the whole time.

Its unnecessary.

That scene was brilliant because there was no soundtrack and very little sound. Other than the wind and the waves it was just dead (literally) silence while the Night's King and Azor Ahai stared at each other.

Has it been established that he is the Night's King btw? Or is it just people assuming?

I believe D&D called him the Night's King in the newest Inside GoT segment.

Confirmed. D & D referred to him as The Night's King.

Azor Ahai is still speculation.

I hope it's not a fight where the Night's King is talking to him because 1. if Walkers can speak a language other than their own that's another change I don't want 2. If he speaks at all they'll probably subtitle it and I don't want that either.

I feel like the fight Jon had was much more effective because it was wordless, the only actual interaction was the Walker going 'oh ****** **** mothefucker that's Valyrian Steel' and it was great

If the theory is right, would that mean Jon Snow is Dragonborn?

We'll know if he manages to Fus Do Rah the Night's King back across the Wall :P

With the Dragonborn talk going on, all I can see is this.

On top of the Wall, with the vista of the entire seven kingdoms in the background.

...aww yiss.

Considering Jon is probably going to be a dragon-rider at some point (because those dragons need to get Westeros eventually, and the Targs rode them into battle), the final battle might be in the air versus the Night's King on its own dragon.

Being half Stark and half Targaryen places him in a strange position imo

It seems like the Targs are going to fight on behalf of the Red God, while the Starks might fight for the Great Other, one example is if Brynden Rivers does serve the Great Other, Bran will follow his lead and work on behalf of the Great Other. (I am aware that Brynden is a Targ, but he's a very special kind of guy)

So maybe Rickon, Bran, Sansa and possibly Arya could try to marshal an army and fight with the Walkers while Dany and any other Targs could field their dragons and whatever houses support them.

Then again chances are that wont happen in the show, cause y'know, shittonnes of money.
