The Alliance was working, doesn't matter what started it. The Martells who ignored everyone previously started to warm up and contribute to Westeros. If you haven't noticed they have retreated again to their corners after the rebellion. They literally have no relation with any houses. Doran has started an agenda and we don't really know what it is, but I think we both know its not the facade "Oh I only blame SOME Lannisters" that he has right now.

The Martells have always been in there little corner, just as the North has always been largely left to its own devices.  And they do have a relation, Myrcella is betrothed to the heir of House Martell

That's the agenda I talked about. I'm not sure of the semantics or details, but I just read on the wiki that the Martells have ceased all sorts of trade and relations with other houses since Targaryen rule fell. The arranged marriage is the only such thing and we both know there are so much more to it. I think Doran is starting to play the game. Myrcella is not just a Lannister, her last name is Baratheon. If Tommen dies, she (and her husband) have the strongest claim to the throne.

well no, if Tommen dies then there is absolutely no legal basis to oppose Stannis's ascension to the throne, even if he wouldn't be given it, most of the kingdoms would be dead before seeing the power go to Dorne and a woman to boot.

Also lol@ Doran "starting" to play the game

Considering what we know (or rather don't know) in the show he may not be all that involved versus his treacherous plans in the books.

"Legal". I think you need to look up that word in Westeros context. The only country that has the power to say No is the Vale. The Tyrells will not oppose it as long as the reach continues to prosper and remains safe.

Besides I was talking about show Doran. Not to mention the Martells do not play the game like rest of westeros. The aranged marriage is them starting to play like rest of Westeros.

We'll see how it goes, can it best the bestest? Aka assassination of Joffrey which only 3 people know who actually did it. (Olenna, Balish and Sansa)

Sans a didn't know about the plot, Done has always been involved in KL politics, from sending assassins at Argon, to marriages to Rhaegar.

So please stop peddling your fantasy

You mean sending Dornish Assassins with dornish poison? OMG SO SUBTLE NO ONE KNEW IT WAS MARTELLS.

The martells are not afraid of their image or public relations, therefore their style of game is quite different than... say Tyrells who are always subtle.

And the marriage with Rhaegar served both parties. The Targaryens tamed the only house they could not conquer. In fact that got the better end of the bargain.

Balish told Sansa.

It's hard to go into Martell plotting without delving into the books and going on speculation since it seems most of the Dornish Master Plan has been cut out of the show and not all of it has been revealed in the novels yet. Suffice it to say though, that Doran has been plotting at the downfall of the Lannisters ever since the Mountain killed his sister and every move he ever makes is deliberately planned out, weighing out every conceivable consequence (to a fault).

Yep. You can always count on HBO to make nobles without training to kill unsullied who were trained since they were a toddler.

Why do you feel the need to show others without your sick mind that image?

Quick question for the loremasters: Why are the Targaryens these nazi posterboys with blond hair and blue eyes (or purple which is the fantasy version of blue)? If they're from Essos why aren't they brown or black like everybody else?

How about....

I hear there's a whole chapter devoted to illustrate Jon's ***** eating mastery.

Wut

Essos is not "the land of brown people." Lysians are blue eyed and fair haired, and Braavosi aren't dark skinned, for instance. Tip: Being white =/ being a nazi. Good lord.

People in Essos aren't black. The only black people in ASOIAF are from the summer Isles and Sothoryos. Most of Essos is the same distance away from the equator as southern westeros so it makes sense for them to have the same complexion. Qarth is pretty much the same distance from the equator (if this map is to be believed, bare in mind that Martin said that all the maps were drawn as if they were made by people in the time of ASOIAF and are therefor at least somewhat inaccurate) and the people of Qarth are called "milk men" due to their complexion, so it makes complete sense for Valyrians to be white.

Yeah, I'm mixed on that. I'm hoping the show incorporates some aspect of Doran as a schemer. It could be a great plot point. On the other, I don't think the book really does a great job of giving Doran a scheme worthy of his temperament. His decision not to throw Dorne into another war is commendable, but most of his side plans are a bit eye-brow raising, imo.

There are a number of issues here.

Doran was always playing the "game". The only people that never really were was Robert Baratheon and Eddard Stark.

Myrcella is just a Lannister. The noble families all know the rumors of Jaime/Cersei's relationship, and I'm pretty sure the "smarter" members know that there was NEVER a fair haired child in House Baratheon history let alone three in a row. If Jon Arryn and Eddard (I'll never understand the "Ned" thing) Stark were able to find actual clues that spelled it all out, then it is also possible that others have also come to the same conclusion without the whole getting murdered part (honor tends to do that).

Robert named Joffery, Tommen, and Myrcella as Baratheon's, but that was only made with the assumption that they were actually his children. If evidence came out that proved that they were actually the products of incest Tommen and Myrcella would be named bastards (if not just Lannister's) before they were executed along with their parents for the crime of incest by the High Sparrow.

It should also be noted that Littlefinger handed the information of the parentage of Cersei's children to Eddard Stark, and he handed some information over to the High Sparrow which helped lead to Cersei's arrest.

A bunch of idiots in masks with daggers can almost do it though.

Which is why all Stannis would need to take on the dragons would be a couple dozen balista!

And then killing Stannis, maybe in battle, who has no heirs, would be the end of all male direct successors to Robert, making Myrcella the de facto ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. She would marry Doran's son and have the Iron Throne in his back pocket.

Agreed. It's like saying "why isn't everyone not from America black or brown?" It ignores the fact that the rest of the planet is more than just one ethnicity.
