At this point, I tend to agree.

Spoiler

It's not the first time they've pulled this. I mean, everyone thought Davos died, and was revealed to be alive. They did it in the books as well.

Wait, when did they fake out Davos' death? Was that back in Season 3?

There are volumes written on the definition of evil, or whether it truly even exists in man.

Tywin used every tool available to secure the power for himself and his family. That makes him ruthless and cruel, but are those traits truly evil when employed in the service of a worthwhile cause? Without Lannister wealth, Robert's kingdom would have quickly fallen apart, destroying countless lives and further fracturing the world. Did having the Mountain rape and murder a princess and her children save countless lives, in the big picture? Do horrific acts that prevent even larger, more horrific acts evil?

Yes. They're all evil. Tywin made it okay in his mind to do evil things, if he could justify them with some excuse of getting some kind of good out of it. Consistently torment his son? For the greater good of making him toughen up. Sending a monster with orders to rape and kill a mother and her kids? Its to secure a guaranteed victory against Targaryen loyalists. Burn down half of westeros's food supply and make sure there aren't enough people left to harvest them on the cusp of winters arrival? Gotta crush them rebels my Grandson created with his stupidity.

Then we get into the whole trial of tyrion lannister thing, and Tywin's internal consistency breaks down, as he's no longer able to distinguish what he wants over what's best for the realm/his family.

Somebody burn this poster.

If it came to a Westeros ruled by that stiff necked dolt, Id climb on the pyre myself.

In S2E9 "Blackwater, Davos gets thrown into the water by the wildfire explosion and was considered as good as dead until season 3.

Despite a lot of crap going on, I can say that watching that chick with the arrows buy it made it all worth it. I hated that little sh*t.

True but my concern is they're waiting to see how important Stannis will be in Winds of Winter. If he isn't "important enough" by their standards he stays dead.

I see the Stannis fanboys are still clinging desperately onto the idea that he'll still be the "mannis" after slaughtering his daughter, driving his wife to suicide, losing half of his army, marching to a solid unresounding defeat at the hands of the Boltons, and apparently being killed by Brianne, huh?

In general, though, it was a really solid episode.  I feel like a ton of major **** went down.  I already can't wait to see how this all plays out.

he will always be the Mannis, in the medium that hasn't thrown the storyline to the dogs

I can't imagine a single reason why Brienne would let him live, though I can't imagine a good reason why they'd cut away from an actual death scene when so many others get theirs in a very straightforward way, like Trant. F*ck that guy lol, though poor Arya I guess. The many faced god's kind of a dick.

I see that you're going to be an ******* about it.

Why do I think Stannis yet lives? You'd think they'd show his death when they're so open with how everyone else dies.

I think it was his last words "do your duty".  Perhaps on a certain level, despite her fanatical devotion to him, Brienne knows that Renly was a usurper with no legitimate claim to the throne.  In that case, as the rightful "King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm" (in who's name Brienne sentences Stannis) it was Stannis' duty to sentence a traitor to death.

I think he might very well be alive still.  I agree that the editing for that scene was off.  Why cut away?  Maybe Brianne had some weird 'conscious' moment, something to do with oaths or some such nonsense.  Or maybe one of those, 'I'd rather see you brought to justice' things.  Who knows?  He might be dead.  He might not be.  I just want the people who were so smugly insistent that his actions last week were clearly the right move to admit that he made series of terrible decisions that ended in his defeat.  That's all.

More like the Ramsay's escort party clears the way for him to be a jerk in the aftermath.

Look, I see that it's too soon to rub it in, so I'll lay off.  Also, I like to think of myself as an independent, so don't associate me with anyone else who comes in and starts nonsense.  I've made my point.  No reason to keep it going.

On another note, how badly do you think Cersei is going to make it for that Sparrow lady who's been screwing with her this whole time?  I suspect that the resurrected Mountain is going to do some awful things to her.

Not sure how I feel about Jorah and Daario's Excellent Adventure to rescue Dany next season.  That whole plot line can go epically bad with the cheese factor.

Ugh, this season had its moments, but the people who said they were going for cheap shock value were so right. I'm sorry I believed otherwise. After a fairly high point at Hardhome, the series has basically crapped out completely.

Way to make friends. But, since none of that has actually happened in the real story, it's really only a criticism of the TV show. As far as Stannis goes, that's just one example of many where the show has dropped good storytelling for... well, I'm not even sure what they're going for actually.

Don't worry the final episode will be a 55 minute battle between Ramsay and Dany to see who can burn/flay the most people.

The winner gets the Iron Throne.

Naming a bunch of stupid **** Stannis would never do, and then calling something built on it a solid episode is kind of funny, tbh.

Nobody ever thought things would go well for Stannis. Hell, I read AGoT, and learned that this series should be called a Song of Jon and Dany. We just sort of hoped the writers would treat him with more respect. Then after the first few seasons, we hoped they'd at least give him an honorable death. Then **** like this happens. It's kind of stupid in almost every way, hence the anger, and not delusion.
