according to the books, what happens from here? Arya is blind, Dany is a prisoner, Jaime's daughter got snogged and the Watch are a bunch of assholes. I really want to say it cant get any worse, but I know GoT is a show where everything cant get better.

Dany is not a prisoner in the books. Myrcella is alive. Jamie and Brienne are in the Riverlands (never went near Winterfell or Dorne) heading straight for Lady Stoneheart. Jon got stabbed. Stannis has a huge army and is about to attack Winterfell. Theon and his sister are both with him as well. Pycelle and Kevan got killed by Varys, who is in King's Landing. Balon is dead and the Greyjoy plot involves them having a horn that can control dragons (most likely damn important to the story). And Jojen Reed didn't get killed by skeletons in a dungeons and dragons encounter. Ohh and Mance Rayder is alive and he is at Winterfell.

That is how the books stand compared to the show. The show has caught up now.

The show ends up essentially where the books are at now. There are differences in almost every aspect though. Jaime is nowhere Dorne, the Watch situation leading up to Jon's shanking was different, the spirit and depth of the whole Stannis/Bolton confrontation is completely absent and stripped down to a series of "OMGSHOCKING" moments.

Regarding Arya...

Spoiler

arya mah gurrl! Rootin for u bae! Arya stark shanking her way through westeros, **** the throne feel Stark justice!

i honestly think that this entire story would be fixed by dropping in the last Dragonborn into the series.

Nah Might as well just summon Chaos to eat the planet and be done with it.

Hopefully with Eliphas the Inheritors voice.

I don't think Daenerys is little miss perfect. She's like the United States sort of. Goes to the middle east, forcibly overthrows the current regimes, then her weapons burn some children, is unable to control her newly acquired territories and a few years later she wonders why everyone hates her, it must be because of the freedom she provides.

Did they expect killing Jon would suddenly put the wildlings back on the other side of the wall? Great plan guys.

We just need a character to go around and kick some sense into everyone's balls tbh.

Except High Sparrow. Just send his ass onto a boat headed for the Afterlife.

There he goes...

All in all, I enjoyed this season for the most part. It has caused me to really temper my expectations though and to try and separate book and show as much as possible.

Aside from Snooooorne and the simplification of the whole Northern conflict, I pretty much enjoyed everything. Well, I could nitpick but let's think happy thoughts!

E: **** it, it's time to nitpick a bit.

There, that felt a little better.

They only need to play the Brienne card. Best armour in the lands, valyrian steel artifact, can't be beaten by anyone. Just send her to the wall and let her do her thing.

People are calling her Dany Sue, I wanted to contribute my reason to disagree on that respect. It's only my opinion.

Yeah, but no one asked for a tired, cliched political comparison to the Bush administration.

That's like 3 degrees off of Godwinning.

HAHAHA! I love the Stannis fanboys crying their  eyes out. His sacrifice was for nothing. In fact, it eld to his downfall, and I love the fact half his army abandoned him. How many of the men following him had children of their own? How can anyone see a man murder his own child in cold blood and still see that man as a worthy ruler? COME ON.

Hey, GOD, you thought you wrre so brillant supporting the child killer? L0L

"So Stannis is probably dead (not certain until we see a body, albeit I've no idea what his story could be if he's alive nor why would Brienne spare him)."

Stannis may be dead but that's the easy way out. I want him to TRULY suffer. I noticed hesitation in Brienne's eyes when the sword came down/scene changed. I think she changed her mind at last second and hit the ground. I want him to be spared. I want him to witness the folly of following a psycho fire witch cult. I want him beg for mercy. I want him to have to look Davos in the eye and suffer that wrath. I want him to find a worthy person for the crown and bow to them and give an oath of alligience. THEN, and ONLY THEN he may find some sort of mild redemption as he sacrifices himself in the final battle for his new ruler. Also, i wouldn't mind if he got a shot to kill the woman who brainwashed him into thinking he was a god.

Sansa escapes but LF nowhere to be seen. He has dissapointed me the last half of season.

Jon's 'death' was spoiled but the Night Watch is pathetic. For all their talk about duty, loyalty, 'brothers-in-arms', they sure have no qualms murdering each other. Not surprising since half of them were likely criminals. PATHETIC.

The Dan/Drogon scene was cute.

Cersei may be an evil witch but those religious fanatics are 100x worse. They have NO redeeming features. NONE.

WOW. That Trant deaths cene was over the top gore. Not that he didn't deserve it (the show made sure of that) but that wa sover the top.  Arya continues to go down the path of EVIL.

Can't believe they killed Myrcella... of course I can.. She just had a happy 'coming out' with her father uncle. L0L That couldn't end well.

Still, I think it was an entertaining finale but  so much open questions for S6...

Dragons are overrated. A bunch of untrained religious fanatics can defeat one of those + the unsullied, wich are the best fighters in the world.

Considering she fails to protect everybody she is supposed to protect chances are she'll fail to protect the realm too.

When misrule takes its place at the eight corners of the world

When the Brass Tower walks and Time is reshaped

When the thrice-blessed fail and the Red Tower trembles

When the Dragonborn Ruler loses his throne, and the White Tower falls

When the Snow Tower lies sundered, kingless, bleeding

The World-Eater wakes, and the Wheel turns upon the Last Dragonborn.

Of course the sacrifice was pointless. That is exactly what the Stannis fanboys have been saying. The show writers destroyed the character for no other reason than shock value.
