Yeah, Myrcella is killed and presumably Dorne will now be enemies of the Lannisters. It does actually change a fair bit politically, but it all happened in the last minute with the rest of it pretty much filler.
Really like Dorne, particularly Doran, in the books so was a bit disappointing.
Dorne and Lannister are enemies since Robert sat on the iron throne. But now Dorne basically released/killed the most important hostage and put their own prince as voluntary hostage to Lannister. it is again full moronic mode turning on. In this season, all characters except Ramsay turned on this mode. Amazing job D&D!

It seems it was decided quite early that Dany will make it to Westeros, whether to conquer it or die several seconds after setting foot on it (pretty usual in GoT standards) is not known. So she has a plot armor until she goes there. I thin the writers failed to demonstrate her struggles and efforts in a good way in the show. I quite liked Book Dany, though I've only read book one and some of book two.
Besides if Jon and Stannis are really dead, she is the only remaining candidate for promised prince/cess.

Nah. The Dragon is supposed to have three heads. I want to see the miracle D&D is going to pull out of their asses to explain how Dany could possibly be all three.

Cue D&D asspull that 3 heads doesn't mean 3 people, but order of birth.
They'd say she is all 3 dragons because she was the third born child of the Mad King.
It's ****, but I wouldn't put it past the writers to make Dany Sue that much more awesome.

It was a waste of a plot. Go to Dorne and fail! And it has no bearing on anything in the rest of the plot at all!
Jamie goes to Dorne or Jamie goes to the Riverlands to deal with Blackfish Tully + runs into Lady Stoneheart.....hmmm....what could be more interesting...

Jamie.
I wouldn't mind tbh. But it would require a lot of explanation.
Though given the GoT fans its possible, they've already made a crazy idea that Tyrion is a Targaryen and his mother slept with one.

It would be interesting to see who the other two will be. But one of the dragons is going to be the one in center, with two others following it.

Jon had to die because if any of those things were true, he'd have a better claim than Dany to the throne. So, he had to be taken care of. Makes sense.
Can't find out about it now, though. Since Jon is gone from the show. All the Lyanna + Rheagar bits Barristan talked about was a waste of time.

Since this is a HBO show her boobs will probably count as the other two heads.

So I'm new at making random comedic stabs at ASoIaF/GoT lore theories so, I propose maybe the Night King is actually "the Prince that was promised." And the prophecy is that he's delivering his people from darkness by freeing their home from the thousands of yeas of human infestation.
Because it occurs to me that everything has gone so overwhelmingly in their favor that either they are going to be unstoppable, or they couldn't ever have actually posed a threat while The Seven Kingdoms were still strong.

It's not too surprising that Dorne wasn't that good in the show. The books didn't provide much to work with there.
They did squat with the good material they did have, so, kind of moot.
That episode was awesome. The butthurt is so powerful.
"People don't like what I like, let's insult them."

It's not crazy. The Mad King was an old horndog and in love with Joanna Lannister.

Cool theory. And their "burning sword" will be undead Jon wielding a sword Melisandre makes for him. Or they will have dragons on their side. Melting the wall and wreaking havoc.

More likely that Jamie and Cersei are Targaryan bastards, actually. Given how they...get along. Which also means Jamie killed his father.

Eh. That's easy enough to BS.
"Dany has the head of a woman, the head of a queen and the head of a mother. She is the promised one."
Or "Dany will be leader of Essos, the Dothraki and the Seven Kingdoms - the three heads of her power will defeat the White Walkers."
The list goes on - prophecy is always designed to allow any event or setup to be pigeon holed in later. Just because popular fan theory assumed one thing doesn't make the writers changing it BS... it just makes prophecy in general BS.

I could see that, minus the fact that book Targs have white hair and purple eyes, which would make Jaime and Cersei stand out. And I could see Tywin knowing this and then absolutely hating Tyrion - his one true child, something he views as a monster, a failure, a reflection of everything he despises (even though Tyrion is more of a true child of Tywin in personality and skills than Jaime or Cersei combined).

Illyn Payne got his tongue removed as well. Likely to protect that secret. Which makes his laugh at Jamie rather interesting, when Jamie says he loves his sister.

Hey, I'm not a Dany fan at all and I was blown away by what happened to Stannis. It doesn't mean I can't get on here and appreciate the collective wailing and gnashing of teeth of so many fans.
In terms of the writers ruining the source material... I agree that Stannis received poor treatment. But do people forget D&D know the overall arc of the story? Anytime they divert the story, it is to save screentime and deliver (what they think) will be more effective means of telling the story. Does anyone think Stannis will win the war of Winterfell in the books? That he will survive the Attack and have a shot at the throne? That he won't be involved in some type of moral sacrifice that will ultimately be his undoing?
Blame D&D for Stannis' treatment maybe, but blame GRR for his fate.
